The recently concluded GITEX Africa was a testament to the growing importance of technology in driving economic growth and innovation across the African continent and I am delighted by Dubai Internet City’s participation as Business Acceleration Partner of the event.
GITEX Africa was an opportunity to showcase the expertise and capabilities nurtured at Dubai Internet City for 25 years as visionary programmes like Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and Dubai’s Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI) strengthen our city’s pro-innovation framework. Equally, GITEX Africa served as a platform for us to engage with key stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, investors, and government officials, to collaboratively create an even more vibrant and sustainable tech ecosystem in the MENA region.
Among the highlights of our participation was the Supernova Challenge, reflecting our enduring commitment to supporting regional start-ups by providing them access to mentorship, funding, and other resources. The programme will play a crucial role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa, and on behalf of Dubai Internet City – partner of the Supernova Challenge’s AI and Digital Cities Category – congratulate the semi-finalists, finalists, and overall winners of the competition.
With a rich legacy of enabling globally impactful innovation as the regional address of industry giants like Google, Microsoft, and Visa, Dubai Internet City fosters an environment conducive to unlocking Africa’s tremendous potential.
We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, and on behalf of my team, thank the organisers of GITEX AFRICA for a successful and insightful event in Morocco. Dubai Internet City will continue to enrich the regional tech talent pool and ecosystem by attracting the world’s brightest minds to work, connect, and innovate from our thriving community.
