The Role

Within the Atlas Copco Crépelle Product company, we are looking for a contract engineer to contribute to the successful delivery of our product.
You will be part of a diverse engineering team . Within the product team you will cooperate with project engineers (mechanical, electrical, calculations) and designers. You will also collaborate with test engineers and mechanics . Furthermore you will be part of a cross functional team in which marketing, purchasing, production, service and engineered solutions will be represented. Together you will drive the product towards successful completion.
Your operational tasks consist of:

  • Evaluating the contract description upon receipt of an order together with the design department, MPC, planner and Proposal Engineer to correctly estimate the feasibility of the contract.
  • technical, commercial and planning meetings with (end) customers and contractors (Kickoff Meeting, pre-inspection meeting, Factory Acceptance Test, ...)
  • technical alignment with the design department
  • correct processing of the order in the different systems (mainly IC3)
  • follow-up (and logging of any changes - VTO) of the contract in terms of delivery, documentation, scope or finances.
  • having at all times an overview of the current state of handled projects
  • follow-up of documents planning (drawings, datasheets, manuals, certificates, ... ) + alignment between customer requests VS Design capacities
  • aligning quality/template of documents between (end) customer and design department.
  • creating together with the design department SDI (Supplier Document Index), ITP (Inspection Test Plan), Production planning, Monthly Progress Reports, datasheets and procedures.
  • taking responsibility for the safety and quality of the product, and filling in of Risk Analysis together with the design department
  • follow up of budget
  • supporting and consulting regularly with CC to always provide necessary technical information and determine the most efficient approach for a project based on the Contract and aligning with the Design department
  • providing training to others. (Contract Engineers, Proposal Engineers, Sales Company, ... )
  • organizing and managing Witness Tests, visits of CC, inspectors and/or end-customers
  • coordinating the project from start-up till shipment.
  • follow up of ownership transfer to teams in charge of shipping, installation and commissioning if contractual required.
  • coordinating with other EngineeredSolutions entities to align shared projects.


You will report to the Engineering manager CRP

we expect you to:

  • be responsible for planning’s transparency of the project
  • follow up the budget, quality, scope, safety and delivery time of the end product
  • coordinate the project from start till dispatch of the final product
  • propose improvements for the current operation of the department
  • prepare reports on the project progress, budget and cost status if required
  • communicate with customer, customer center and stakeholders.
  • align/coordinate with the design engineers, production and MPC's.
  • maintain internal contacts withing the own department as well as other services

Specific professional knowledge:

General knowledge of mechanics, electricity, good knowledge of current prices of different components. Use of the Group's own software. Daily practice of French/ English (writing, meetings, teleconferences). Level Engineering Diploma or equivalent experience.
