A high trust, collaborative contracting environment is driven by the project team’s behaviours, but what is often overlooked is that these behaviours are dictated by the contractual instrument agreed. Our involvement in the SH25A Taparahi Rebuild project is a great example of how successful this approach can be. We had a high-trust collaborative agreement with joint venture partners, Fulton Hogan and McConnell Dowell. This agreement allowed the collaborative intent set by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to flow smoothly through to all parties involved. As a result, everyone felt empowered by high levels of trust, which helped us effectively work towards the common goal of reopening the road and reconnecting the communities. Our team worked collaboratively throughout the lifecycle of the project, always willing to consider all angles and find best for project solutions. A high level of trust was fostered between team members, and this was critical to project success. A strong sense of purpose drove the team to persevere, putting in long hours of graft regardless of ongoing challenges to reconnect the affected communities and businesses. This commitment resulted in rapid progress, with completion achieved three months ahead of schedule. In recognition of our excellent work on this project Geovert has been nominated as a finalist at the upcoming Civil Contractors New Zealand Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards. As Byron our Superintendent commented “This was the best project I have ever worked on. It was a one team effort with everyone on the same page and fully committed to getting the job done, an experience I will treasure.” #collaboration #hightrust #teamwork #awardsfinalist #slopestabilisation #reconnectingcommunities #partnership #geovert

🌊 Protecting Karehana Bay, New Zealand from Debris Flows 🌊🌧️ In 2020, heavy rainfall triggered debris flows in #KarehanaBay Scenic Reserve, posing a significant hazard to the residential areas of #Plimmerton. Geovert installed three Geobrugg #DebrisFlowBarriers to safeguard residential areas at the most endangered sites. These high-tensile ring net barriers meet the highest standards (EAD-340020-00-0106) for retaining #DebrisFlows and #ShallowLandslides. The systems ensure maximum resident protection while having a minimal visual and ecological impact on the surroundings. We’re proud to have increased the safety in this area, reinforcing our commitment to providing effective and environmentally sensitive protection solutions. #DebrisFlowProtection #MudslideBarrier #FloodPrevention #FlashFlood #Hillslide #geotechnical #naturalhazards

The start, the middle and the impressive end result! The Geovert NZ team deserve to be congratulated on their quality of workmanship and attention to detail throughout this ENGEO NZ & AU designed Wellington City Council project. With some signifiant road and rope access challenges to contend with, Geovert opted to use scaffolding to safely construct the shotcrete retaining wall and mesh slope stabilisation system. Great job everyone! 🙌 #slopestability #geotechnicalengineering #infrastructure #shotcrete #teamwork #scaffold #challengingaccess #ropeaccess #geovert

Following heavy rainfall in 2017 two large slips occurred in Ngaio Gorge, New Zealand. The site was in steep hilly terrain in an area of high seismicity and with significant vulnerability to natural hazards. The technical complexity and the challenges on this project called for exceptional expertise in slope stabilisation. The ground was some of the worst we have encountered, with bottomless voids and relentless collapsing of holes, which required our crew to be adaptable and tenacious, with a 110% commitment to safety. The challenging conditions were compounded by poor access, inclement weather and active slips that required scaling and temporary mesh drapes to ensure the safety of our crew. Geovert takes pride in our collaborative and transparent approach, and this project was no different. There were accomplishments for almost everyone on the crew by way of new qualifications, expanded knowledge, team building and leadership skills. Despite the challenges and significant scope increases, the project was delivered within the contract period. Geovert are extremely proud of the team that delivered this project. Geovert NZ completed a slip remediation project on State Highway 2 in Kaitoke by installing almost 2000m2 of Cirtex erosion matting, 300m of sub horizontal drains and a 1.2m height Geobrugg T35 rockfall barrier at the toe of the slope. Thanks to the Wellington Transport Alliance - and the awesome views - for making this such an epic project. #erosioncontrol #ropeaccess #geotechnicalconstruction #slopestabilisation #teamwork #rockfallprotection #geovert

In remote locations where access is non-existent, helicopters are often the only way in and out – for people and equipment. Footage here of the awesome Geovert NZ team being liveline lifted in with their equipment to carry out drilling, blasting and scaling work as part of a vital rockfall mitigation project in the Fiordland National Park. The superb skill and accuracy of the helicopter pilots combined with the expertise, determination and can-do attitude of our crew, is critical to our success and allows Geovert to lead the way in natural hazard mitigation.
