Low cost, low-emission hydrogen and graphite production process
About us
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Hazer Group was founded in 2010 to commercialise technology originally developed at the University of Western Australia, and the Company listed on the ASX in December 2015. Prior to listing, over eight years was spent developing the underlying Hazer Process, using natural gas and unprocessed iron ore to create low cost, low-emission “clean” hydrogen, considered to be a key fuel in the transition to low carbon economy. In addition to the hydrogen product, the Hazer Process produces synthetic graphite, used in lithium ion batteries, lubrication and industrial applications. Since listing on the ASX, Hazer developed a research partnership with the University of Sydney, and established its core development operations within the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney. The company has achieved a number of key developmental milestones including the construction of Hazer's Pre Pilot Plant, the production of high-purity synthetic graphite and hydrogen and successful testing of Hazer Graphite in lithium-ion batteries. Most recently, Hazer has signed a Heads of Agreement with Mineral Resources for the potential development of commercial synthetic graphite facilities.

Turquoise Hydrogen: Europe's Most Cost-Effective Clean Hydrogen Solution? Exciting news for the clean hydrogen future! A recent report by Hydrogen Europe highlights turquoise hydrogen as the most cost-competitive clean hydrogen pathway in Europe today. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ecVGaHkB Produced through methane splitting (methane pyrolysis), turquoise hydrogen offers several advantages: 💡Lower Cost: With a base-case LCOH of €2.3/kg, it could be cost-competitive with grey hydrogen if the ETS price reaches €100/tCO2 (compared to €160/tCO2 for blue hydrogen). 💡Reduced Emissions: The process avoids direct CO2 emissions by producing solid carbon instead. This carbon is also cheaper and easier to store than CO2. 💡Valuable Byproduct: Solid carbon can be sold as carbon black, further reducing the cost of turquoise hydrogen production. With ongoing development and a supportive regulatory framework, turquoise hydrogen has the potential to revolutionise clean hydrogen production in Europe. Hazer is excited for possible opportunities where we can empower the European clean hydrogen market. #ASX #HZR #hydrogen #cleanhydrogen #decarbonisation #methane #cleantech #turquoisehydrogen

A recent article from The Australian revealed that the global hydrogen boom offers a golden opportunity for Australia to be a clean energy leader. But with green and blue battling for dominance, is there a better way? 💡Green vs. Blue: Green hydrogen (renewable energy) is ideal, but blue hydrogen (fossil fuels with CCS) offers a faster, cheaper near-term solution. 💡The Turquoise Take: LETA, a clean hydrogen advocate, pushes for a broader approach, including turquoise hydrogen for a truly technology-neutral future. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g6cSWS9H Australia must champion innovation across ALL clean hydrogen options (green, blue, and turquoise) to secure its clean energy leadership and thrive in a low-carbon future. This ensures we meet energy demands while remaining competitive. Hazer Group is at the forefront of turquoise hydrogen production in Australia. Our Commercial Development Plant (CDP) is currently Australia's first large-scale turquoise hydrogen facility, paving the way for a more sustainable future. #hydrogen #cleanenergy #Australia #turquoisehydrogen #cleanhydrogen #energy #decarbonisation #ASX #HZR #HazerGroup

We're thrilled to be featured on The Australian as a leading ASX firm driving decarbonisation efforts! Read more about how we are doing this here: https://lnkd.in/gVGmUPmK Our advanced Hazer process enables the production of clean, affordable hydrogen and high-quality graphite, using natural gas (or biogas) and iron ore as a catalyst. By utilising biogas, we achieve significant emission reductions (>50%) compared to fossil fuel-based hydrogen production. #decarbonisation #cleantech #hydrogen #ASX #innovation #sustainability #HZR #HazerGroup #cleanhydrogen

‘‘Green is far too expensive, and it’s far too long-dated’’- said Glenn Corrie, in today's Australian Financial Review. Hazer CEO Glenn Corrie spoke to The Australian Financial Review yesterday about how other hydrogen technologies have the potential to fill in the gap left by FFI's decision to de-prioritise green hydrogen. He called for the funding promised by the Australian Governmentto move from green hydrogen to ‘‘clean’’ hydrogen, supporting technologies such as Hazer's turquoise hydrogen solution, which can deliver gas at one-fifth of the cost of renewables-based hydrogen. Hazer’s Technical Business Advisor Rachel Konstantinu attended the Australian Parliamentary Friends of Hydrogen event hosted by the Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC). At the event, Rachel had the opportunity to connect with Hon Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy (pictured). The event provided an opportunity to engage with parliamentarians on the hydrogen sector and showcase Hazer’s low-emission hydrogen technology. The significant policy support for hydrogen in the recently announced budget was a key theme from the speakers at the event, which also included Dan Repacholi MP, Dr Anne Webster MP and the AHC’s CEO Dr Fiona Simon. "It was great to see such strong attendance at the event from our industry peers, highlighting the important part that policy and investment play in accelerating the development of low emissions hydrogen technology”, Rachel commented. “This is a powerful testament to the transformative potential of low-carbon hydrogen to decarbonize different industries. I'm eager to see Hazer spearhead this transition, making a significant impact in Australia and beyond." Rachel followed up the event with a meeting with the climate change and energy ministerial adviser for hydrogen. #hydrogen #cleantechnology #cleanenergy #HazerGroup #ASX #HZR #cleanhydrogen #decarbonisation #hydrogenevent
