SHORTLISTED • Knight Frank, WA Australian Design Review has unveiled the shortlist for the 2024 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), and we're thrilled to announce that our design for Knight Frank Australia Perth is shortlisted for Workplace Under 1000 sqm! The realised design features an extensive front-of-house client interface which leads to an open-plan workplace incorporating a wide range of separate staff amenities including informal meeting and focus rooms. Warm, tactile, finishes formed the basis of our interior design palette. The materials and colour palette were chosen to make subtle references to the international brand, whilst also being heavily inspired by the local Western Australian landscape. 🔗 • Discover more: https://bit.ly/3Y8BSjk #PlusArchitecture #KnightFrank #WorkplaceDesign #Perth #IDEA2024

UNWIND, ENTERTAIN & GATHER • 251-261 Springvale Road, VIC When we designed the interiors of 251-261 Springvale Road for Australian Nan Xin Investment in Glen Waverley, Victoria, we emphasised striking a balance between sophistication and comfort. Oak floorboards add warmth to the material palette, whilst a seamless, natural-looking traditional interpretation of terrazzo in wet areas creates a luxurious yet distinctly organic look and feel. Interior Design Lead, Ivona Golubovic, from our Melbourne studio, explains that careful consideration of the material palette will ensure the longevity and timelessness of the project. "Flexibility, accessibility and a premium selection of finishes in warm muted tones will add richness and sophistication in years to come." 🔗 • Link to more: https://bit.ly/4cTAIg4 #PlusArchitecture #SpringvaleRoad #InteriorDesignAustralia #GlenWaverley

APPROVED • Baia, NSW Plus's competition-winning design of Baia has been approved by the NSW Planning Panel. Occupying a prime site on Sydney’s Rhodes Peninsula, the mixed-use precinct for the Meriton Group will house 277 apartments, a childcare facility and retail amenities. Through consultation with our Indigenous design partner, Greenaway Architects, we have referenced Water, Ground, and Sky Country in our design response, resulting in a tower that embodies a sensitive representation of its cultural heritage. The podium design features a horizontal, layered expression to mimic eroded Hawkesbury sandstone, while the rising tower is articulated as separated 'community blocks', stacked vertically with delineating bands, which also aid in reducing the visual mass and modulating the form. 🔗 • Discover more: https://bit.ly/3W80jw4 #PlusArchitecture #ArchitectureNSW #GreenawayArchitects #DesignCompetition #Sydney

FINDING EQUILIBRIUM • Normanby and Munro, VIC In a sea of new glass towers, our design of Normanby and Munro offers a refreshingly elegant and enduring alternative to apartment living in South Melbourne's evolving skyline. Normanby and Munro features a series of towers of staggered heights and alternating hues to create an undulating rhythm within the existing streetscape. Drawing inspiration from the warehouses and ornate Victorian architecture of South Melbourne, we incorporated abstractions of traditional architectural details, including keystone arches, chamfered columns and flared balustrades. Project Lead, Nic Antoniou, explains that the design integrates respectfully into the existing fabric, with a subtle nod to the future. "The risk of nostalgia is that it becomes a caricature, but Normanby and Munro feels not only timeless but quite refreshing in its context." 🔗 • Discover more: https://bit.ly/3LjCivM #PlusArchitecture #ArchitectureMelbourne #MultiResidentialDesign #FishermansBend
