    Some sobering thoughts from the UK for a Friday morning. For so long the UK has been the hunting ground for Australian companies looking for engineering skills. In recent months I've seen companies talk to overseas candidates and treat them like they are hiring a local, even though they have skills we desperately need. This report shows we need to have a strong value proposition for someone to leave their homeland and major projects will no longer cut it. Lets also talk employee engagement if we are hunting for engineers in the UK you can bet that they are hunting here! What are you doing to protect your talent from heading overseas???     Thanks WeAspire! Staying curious allows us to innovate and see a way forward that we may not otherwise seen. So many times curiosity is discouraged, from childhood "curiosity killed the cat", to adulthood where everything needs a process! never stop being curious not only does it lead to great leaders but it leads to great employees and a fun life!

    Curiosity. This was the trait that a top Australian Sailing Coach said that they looked for in their athletes. And it turns out to be exactly what is needed to become a leader. If you are curious, you are open to learning. If you are open to learning, you can improve. If you improve, and remain curious you can achieve anything. Leadership is less a destination, and more a lifestyle. A way of thinking. A way of acting in the world. Once you embody the thoughts, and beliefs of a leader its very hard for you to stop. That said, leadership continues to evolve and new challenges require leaders to remain as learns. Stay curious. Its the defining trait of any great leader.
