প্রায় দুই শতাধিক গৃহকর্মীর অংশগ্রহণে রাজশাহীতে গৃহকর্মীদের অধিকার রক্ষায় দিনব্যাপী র্যালি, পথসভা, আলোচনা সভা ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে Oxfam in Bangladesh। বাংলাদেশের প্রায় ৪০ লাখ গৃহকর্মীকে শ্রমআইনে অন্তর্ভুক্তির মাধ্যমে ‘শ্রমিক’ হিসেবে স্বীকৃতির আহ্বান জানিয়েছে অক্সফ্যাম ইন বাংলাদেশ। দিনব্যাপী আয়োজনে অক্সফ্যাম ও গৃহকর্মীরা যে ৯টি দাবি তুলে ধরে, যার মধ্যে রয়েছে; শ্রম আইনে গৃহকর্ম পেশাকে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা, গৃহকর্মীদের সামাজিক মর্যাদা ও রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বীকৃতি দেয়া, গৃহকর্মে শিশুশ্রম সম্পূর্ণরূপে বন্ধ করা, গৃহকর্মীদের নির্ধারিত কর্মঘন্টা, সাপ্তাহিক ছুটি, ন্যূনতম মজুরী নির্ধারণ, ‘গৃহকর্মী সুরক্ষা ও কল্যাণ নীতি ২০১৫ এর যথাযথ বাস্তবায়ন, গৃহকর্মীদের শোভন কাজ সংক্রান্ত আইএলও কনভেনশন ১৮৯ অনুসমর্থন, এবং গৃহকর্মীর উপর নির্যাতনকারীর দ্রুত শাস্তির প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করা। এই আয়োজনে সাথে ছিল এ্যাসোসিয়েশন ফর কম্যুনিটি ডেভেলপমেন্ট—এসিডি, দুঃস্থ স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র (ডিএসকে), কর্মজীবি নারী এবং ইউসেফ বাংলাদেশ। দিনব্যাপী এই কার্যক্রম সম্ভব হয়েছে গ্লোবাল অ্যাফেয়ার্স কানাডা’র সহযোগিতায়। গৃহকর্মীরা ছাড়াও এই আয়োজনে অংশগ্রহণ করেন রাজশাহী বিভাগীয় কমিশনারসহ অন্যান্য সরকারি ও উন্নয়ন সংস্থার কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ, গণমাধ্যমসহ বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী-পেশার মানুষ। #SecuringRights #Oxfam #OxfamInBangladesh #DomesticWorkers #GenderJustice

In Nepal, infrastructure is damaged, while in India, 2.4 million are affected. Bangladesh faces impacts on 2 million people.
