We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Angel Setumo as our new Board Member responsible for Strategic Collaborations & Partnerships at the Fintech Association Botswana. Angel brings over a decade of experience in driving innovation and digital transformation within large-scale financial organizations. Her expertise in leveraging emerging technologies, such as AI, to enhance operational efficiencies and customer experiences, alongside her strategic foresight and exceptional change management skills, positions her as a distinguished leader in the industry. Currently, Angel serves as the Group Head of Innovation at Letshego Africa. She holds a Chartered Banker MBA from the University of Bangor, a Postgraduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Botswana. She is also a PhD Candidate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Angel’s commitment to advancing financial inclusion and her passion for creating solutions for underserved communities underscore her innovative approach and strategic vision. Her notable achievements include driving financial inclusion through mobile loans across sub-Saharan Africa and receiving recognitions such as a finalist for the Angaza Awards for best woman in Africa financial services and a nominee for the Botswana Awards for Women in Innovation and Tech. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Senwelo Modise as the new Vice President of the Fintech Association Botswana. Senwelo is a specialist attorney with extensive experience in data protection, cybersecurity, and laws of emerging technologies. She is a Partner at Bookbinder Business Law, leading the Technology, Cyber, and Data Protection division. Senwelo holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Botswana and is a Fellow of Information Privacy. Her expertise will be instrumental in advancing our mission of promoting a secure and innovative fintech ecosystem in Botswana. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Neo Tebo Tshiamo(CDFP,FLPFI Fellow,CEFI) Tebo for her dedicated service as the former Vice President. Fintech Association of Botswana has received a grant from the Alliance of Digital Finance and Fintech Associations to develop the "Botswana Scam Radar", a platform which seeks to reduce digital scams in Botswana by at least 30% in the next 5 years.
