  • We are thrilled to share the news that All Service Drilling has a new brand identity. All Service Drilling joined the Geotech Group in 2021 and has been a valuable addition to our team. Since these years working within the group, we have recognized the benefit to align the All Service identity more closely with the Geotech brand. To help foster a greater sense of unity, the All Service logo has been redesigned to match with Geotech’s branding and visual identity aligning with the overall integration strategy of the Geotech Group into the ConeTec Group. The new logo is cohesive with Geotech’s logo, incorporating the original All Service brand colour pallet and integrating aspects to match with ConeTec and Geotech branding.

  • 📍 PROJECT PROFILE: Plateau Exploration - Mayo, Yukon (2018) Geotech Exploration was awarded a heli-portable exploration program located near Mayo, Yukon in May of 2018 with Newmont Mining Corporation. The program consisted of 7500 meters with a heli-portable set-up and was completed on budget and a month earlier than timeline expectations. Most of the equipment on the program had to be separated into loads small enough to fit inside a float plane with the larger components transported by helicopter. Two Hydracore 2000 drills and a total of 14 crew were deployed to complete the drilling at various sites over the 20-kilometer area of the project. Historic drilling production on the program was 40-meters per day in challenging ground conditions and limited water access to the drill sites. Geotech in its first year on the program was able to double the production rates to up to almost 80-meters per day. SITE CHALLENGES: 🔘 Water logistics requiring staged water pumps running up to 10,000 ft in some areas 🔘 High elevation drilling with risk of weather and being stranded at the drill 🔘 Remote location with minimal access PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS: ✅ The program was also one month ahead of the planned schedule. ✅ NQ2 tooling was utilized to achieve maximum core recovery and a larger sample ✅ Doubled production averages ✅ Completed close to 1600 additional meters because of production increases. #drilling #exploration

  • 📍 PROJECT PROFILE: Murray River Mine - Deep Coring Installs Geotech participated on an 8-month deep hole drilling program in the Peace River region of British Columbia for the purposes of instrumentation installations including a 1,000+ meter Westbay Multi-Level Groundwater Monitoring system. Numerous faults and challenging ground conditions were encountered while drilling, requiring cementing and multiple variations of mud programs to ensure successful completion. Due to the historic presence of methane, Geotech implemented gas mitigation procedures such as cementing casing up to 45-meters into competent rock and the installation of a hydraulically actuated diverter system for shutting the hole if methane was encountered. Geotech experienced several holes with pressurized (artesian) methane systems that required specialized risk management plans to safely continue drilling or to close holes under pressure. CHALLENGES 🔘 Strong liklihood of methane gas in all drill holes at depths as shallow as 50 meters. 🔘 Holes over 1000 meters HQ through several coal seams. 🔘 Completed during challenging winter drilling conditions. 🔘 Due to mud/clay stone formations, Geotech continually encountered challenges with casing being washed down the hole due to erosion in these types of rock. 🔘 Some holes required continual cementing of side walls where possible to assist in the advancement of the borehole. ACHIEVEMENTS ✅ Deepest monitoring well west-bay installation in the history of British Columbia. The installation took a total of 7 days, with specialized third-party crews setting and calibrating instrumentation in several zones throughout the course of the borehole ✅ Safely containing methane encounters and able to complete installations in pressurized artesian conditions with the use of plugs and weighted barite/cement programs ✅ Extensive cementing operations and procedures. #drilling #groundwater
