It became a full-time venture after Melody was fired in late 2019. Using personal savings, she took a leap of faith and dedicated six months to turning this passion into something more. Nearly four years later, the brand's mission remains the same: to offer high-quality, sustainable candles! We are proud to offer a brand like Mala to our customers that prioritizes sustainability in their materials, along with packaging the candles in eco-friendly, recycled, materials. Last week, I got to tackle a super fun topic for Well+Good: non-toxic candles! To write this piece, I chatted with experts on from West Clay Company and Mala the Brand — Suzy and Melody shared what it even means for a candle to be clean or non-toxic, red and green flags to look for, and details about the wicks, wax, and fragrances of your favorite candles 🕯️ In the piece, I also rounded up 11 of the best non-toxic candle brands with picks from each, including Snif, Carrière Frères, Candelles, Nette, APOTHEKE, Imaginary Authors, Otherland, P.F.
