On a secondment from Qalipu First Nation, Alison Muise has joined the Project Nujio’qonik team as Community Communications Manager. Alison has spent the past 10 years heading up communications at Qalipu First Nation, and is based in the heart of Project Nujio’qonik at the Stephenville Community Office. In addition to supporting community engagement and Indigenous relations, Alison prepares and implements communications strategies focused on the communities in the project area. She aims to be a familiar face and point of contact for community members to feel more connected to the project. Born in Stephenville and currently living in St. George’s, Alison is excited to be on the cusp of something big happening in her home area. She believes this project holds the promise of contributing to a healthier planet, while reviving the local economy and providing new opportunities for our young people to stay close to home. Outside of work, Alison is happiest outdoors, enjoying activities such as kayaking, hiking, gardening, biking, and playing softball. She has been writing since she learned to hold a pen and finds a good escape in writing stories or reading a good book. #Meettheteam #teamtuesday #communications #community #projectnujioqonik
