In its meeting yesterday (26-June) it opened the consultation process for new regulations concerning corporate reporting obligations. ⚠️ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 3,500 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬. 🔍For those familiar with the CSRD, you'll notice familiar elements (no surprise): - All companies in Switzerland with more than 250 FTEs, as the threshold is reduced from 500! - Long overdue transition from a "comply or explain" approach to mandatory compliance - no more excuses! - Expansion beyond the TCFD framework and the addition of external audits. 🕐 The consultation period runs until October 17, 2024. More details can be found here: https://lnkd.in/exH7e2Rj 📝 As for the "Ordinance on Climate Disclosures", we will be participating in the consultation and are on the lookout for collaborators! #CSRD #ordinanceonclimatedisclosures

This third and last blog focuses on our main takeaways, recommendations and next steps for the VSME standard and reporting for SMEs in general. As a reminder, the voluntary standard called VSME aims to further simplify the entry into sustainability reporting for SMEs. This was triggered by market needs for a voluntary sustainability reporting standard for non-listed SMEs and micro-entities to support them in facing the ESG requests of banks or partners in their value chain.
