Last week, we had our first official get-together in our new office-home! We kicked off the day with inspiring sessions about our business and brand, followed by a tour of the headquarters to get a first glimpse of our soon-to-be workspace. Seeing our office from the inside for the first time gave us a huge boost of energy and motivation. We are proud to celebrate two years of partnership with Sports Innovated GmbH on the pioneering DYNAFIT Athlete Center! Over the past few years, mountain endurance sports have evolved significantly. Trail running races have emerged from niche events to major competitions. Ski mountaineering is set to debut as an Olympic discipline in 2026, bringing it into the spotlight. For athletes, this means increased competition and greater pressure to intensify their training. Recognizing this shift, we decided to take it a step further. With the opening of the first DYNAFIT Athlete Center in 2022, we have established the perfect environment for our athletes to train specifically for their competitions. Our goal is simple: to bridge the gap between a product provider and a brand that truly understands the needs of our athletes. A significant milestone for us is our partnership with ITRA - International Trail Running Association, an organization dedicated to professionalizing the sport of trail running globally. Their mission involves promoting trail running, fostering its growth and offering trail runners around the world a voice. Collaborating with ITRA presents a fantastic opportunity for us to not only support their initiatives but also to share our insights. With a presence in over 165 nations, ITRA has a considerable influence in the trail running community, which we view as integral to the essence of the sport. How to develop an extraordinary fast ultra shoe that none of our competitors has on the market? Just ask our athlete and ultrarunner Hannes Namberger to help out. Since October 2022 our Senior Product Manager Footwear Frederik Claes and Hannes were working together to create that one ultra distance racing shoe which uses the best and lightest technologies available on the market while also incorporating protective elements to ensure all our athletes finish fast but safe. When asking Frederik Claes about the collaboration he says "Developing the shoe without Hannes would have been impossible. We had 1000’s of WhatsApp conversations on any moment of the day. Exchanging ideas, drawings, things that did not work, pictures from other shoes, design elements and more. The story behind our new Ultra DNA shoe: A testament to our "Made by athletes for athletes" commitment. Over the last years we partnered up with our athlete and ultra runner Hannes Namberger to create the newest Ultra DNA shoe. Hannes not only ran his personal best at UTMB 2023 wearing the Ultra DNA, but also played a pivotal role in its development. Here's what Hannes had to say about his experience: "It was a huge honor to offer up my wishes for this shoe. The communication with designers Fred and Enzo was perfect. We discussed every detail, even the very tiniest. We wanted to build a shoe that was made for long distances, offers lots of rebound, and at the same time could run aggressively." "All that work was definitely worth it. Shortly after crossing the finish line at UTMB I pulled off the shoe and didn’t find one single blister. Also, thanks to the new materials, my muscles felt pretty good the next day, and could even maneuver stairs without much of a problem. Normally after 171 km and 10,000 meters of vert that is not at all the case." This success story underscores the significance of athlete input in our development process.
