Health Safety and Environmental EHS Manager | Upfield | Pratau

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Manager, who will play a critical role in creating a safe work environment for all employees. Reporting to the Head of Factory, you will be responsible for managing Safety, Health & Environment program to achieve excellence and promoting a culture of safety. As HSE Manager you will be a key leadership role in our production site in Pratau / Germany

About the Job:

• The Health Safety Environmental (HSE) Manager has the overall responsibility for managing Safety Health Environmental program, team, and improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site level
• This position will work with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE strategy and improvement plans to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Drive Safety and Environmental cultural engagement of all employees through continuous awareness and development of ownership
• In this role you will influence site management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line management
  
  

Key Accountabilities:

Compliance and Training:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislations, company policies, standards and procedures
• Ensure effective implementation of Upfield standards and procedures at site
• Conduct regular safety audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures
• Provide safety training to employees and conduct orientation sessions for new hires
• Facilitate and participate in safety committee meetings to address safety issues and develop action plans
  
  

Incident Management and Investigation:

• Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement preventive measures are taken to eliminate or reduce risks
• Review and analyse accident and incident reports and recommend corrective actions
  
  

Safety Programs and Initiatives:

• Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks
  
  

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify safety trends, performance indicators, and areas for improvement
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Safety or Environmental Management or a completed apprenticeship with additional qualification
• Qualified occupational safety specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit)
• Several years working experience within the HSE field with a strong track record in manufacturing, so that daily running of a factory (technical and operational) is no mystery
• Previous experience with international exposure an advantage
