A village in Bracht, Germany, is tackling the bureaucratic challenges of installing solar systems by SETTING UP ITS OWN DISTRICT HEATING NETWORK 🤩👏 The community aims to achieve a self-sufficient heat supply by installing solar thermal collectors, supplemented by heat pumps and a biomass boiler. The generated heat will be stored in a 27,000 m³ underground tank and distributed to 180 houses via a district heating network. Using the LOGSTOR Calculator, the client calculated heat loss, energy loss, costs, and carbon emissions of different piping systems, ultimately choosing the right solution: LOGSTOR TwinPipes and cross-linked SX-WPJoints! 😊 The project, costing around 16.5 million EUR, will receive about 10 million EUR in state support. Residents will contribute 6,000 EUR cooperatively and pay a monthly fee of 60 EUR. This initiative in Bracht could serve as a model for other communities, demonstrating how local effort and government aid can lead to sustainable, independent energy solutions 💡

Jyllands-Posten offers intriguing insights into Denmark’s green transition 💡 The journey towards a sustainable future isn’t just about technological innovation but also about strong political commitment and long-term vision. As resources dwindle, optimizing raw materials and land use becomes crucial. District heating liberated Denmark from oil dependence post-1970s crises, contributing to significant energy savings. It helps through the current energy crisis triggered by the war in Europe. Over 75% of Danish district heating is green today, aiming for 100% by 2030. The sector focuses on maximizing resource efficiency and recycling. The pipelines and companies that supply heat and water are either directly or indirectly consumers-owned, putting consumers at the center of production and distribution. This creates a democratic platform for the green transition and dynamic knowledge sharing, driving innovation and promoting exports. There is no doubt that Danish solutions can aid in making the green transition a global reality 🌍🌱 For the future, smart integration of different supplies is essential for progress. This includes co-production of electricity and heat, using surplus heat, and integrating renewable energy, to avoid overproduction and ensure efficient resource use. To ensure that green transition becomes a reality for everyone, long-term green education is needed. Citizens, businesses, and knowledge institutions must be involved so that projects are anchored locally and good decisions are made by knowledgeable actors. Recently, we had a visit from Simon Kvindal from Danish Technological Institute. In his role as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, Simon was on a mission to perform chemical measurements of air quality, specifically to detect the presence of isocyanates and their potential concentrations. We have chosen these workplace air quality measurements as we wish to: 💚 increase the well-being and health of our employees 💚 ensure our company's productivity through low sick leave 💚 comply with health and safety regulations We consider these measurements to be an important investment in both our people and our business, in general. Specific limit values for the above-mentioned substances will be more stringent in the coming years, we therefore need to stay on top of the game. To make this happen, we have put our HSE specialist Rasmus Rasmussen and Chemical Support Manager Tina Thomsen in charge. 🙏 Note: The depicted measurement setup does not reflect how the test is actually arranged or conducted.

The program focuses on the market opportunities for Heat Networks in the UK and explores how to optimize heat sources and networks.
