NORSEA DENMARK 50 YEARS: "WE PRETTY MUCH HAD TO LEARN IT ALL OURSELVES" "An area consisting of haphazardly built houses without an overall plan." This is how the word 'klondike' is defined, and it is quite tellingly the term Steen Hansen attaches to the first years with Danbor. As Head of Stevedoring and Logistics in Danbor, Steen Hansen was responsible for a whole lot of tasks; from loading and unloading, to purchasing equipment, and coordinating and negotiating with base workers – without knowing much about the offshore industry: "It was fun and we juggled a lot of balls in the air - we learned things along the way," he says. "Danbor was a company that took shape according to the tasks we had to solve," he says: "We didn't have very many procedures and restrictive ties, because we were the first service company to work with it. It was a bit of a Klondike and most things were possible. Back then, there weren't that many Danes who knew anything about the oil and gas industry. We basically had to learn it all ourselves together with some American colleagues who knew the industry," says Steen Hansen. The Americans left a clear mark on the culture in the industry in the early years. "The Americans' approach was to work as in the USA. There weren't very many rules, and it could feel a bit like the 'wild west' with abnormalities and big arm movements. I heard that, for example, they sent a supply ship out to a platform with 1 pallet of Coca Cola because they had run out, and I doubt that Hotel Brittania has served more ketchup than they did in those years," says Steen Hansen: "It was a funny mix of 'anything goes' and narrow-mindedness. Everything the Americans knew about was ok - the rest was not", he says. Throughout the 1980s, several Danes entered leading positions, especially at the largest customer, Mærsk Oil & Gas AS. At Danbor Service A/S, it was primarily Danish employees, since the logistics and service departments did not need to learn from the Americans – we managed that ourselves. "It all became more Danish. There were more rules and requirements, more security and less cowboy mentality. The company became more efficient and streamlined, and actually also a lot more flexible, because there was a clear framework that you could work freely within - and that fits well with the Danes' way of working," says Steen Hansen. When NorSea bought the company, Steen Hansen chose to accept an offer outside the organisation. "I have followed NorSea Denmark with interest and still have many good acquaintances and friends in the house. It is a great pleasure to hear that the positive Danbor DNA continues in NorSea Denmark - without the abnormalities and narrow-mindedness. NorSea Denmark is a much broader, more modern company, which, among other things, focuses on being a good workplace. If I were 30 years younger, I would have applied for a job with you," says Steen Hansen.

NORSEA DENMARK 50 YEARS: "WE ARE A FAR MORE ATTRACTIVE WORKPLACE TODAY”  With more than 40 years of employment in the company, payroll accountant Marie Kristensen has been with us all the way from Danbor to NorSea Denmark.    You are experienced in the offshore industry when you started before the Tyra field opened in 1984. Marie Kristensen did just that as a payroll accountant at NorSea and the employee who, with a provisional 41 years at NorSea Denmark, has been with the company the longest.   Her first job at Danbor Service, as we were called back then, was at Tyra, which at the time was a hook-up at Staget in Esbjerg. Marie scored a maternity cover in the secretariat:    "Danish offshore was not a very established industry. At the top we had Germans and Americans, because the Danes didn't know much about oil and gas yet. On the floor, we were a confluence of temporary workers and foreigners, all of whom learned to some extent about the job by trying our hand at it. Those were the young and wild days,” she says. "It was fun and challenging, educational and interesting: but also, hard work and very long days. For a period, when I had worked three weeks in a row, my boss said that I could take Sunday off," Marie says reminiscently: "There was a distinctly masculine culture. People on the base called the headquarters the 'Control Room' in reference to the management style, which could definitely be on the stern side."   Marie has tried many different functions in the house, until 1999, when she found her place in Finance as payroll responsible. She is happy with the tasks, the company and the workplace that NorSea Denmark has evolved into:   "We have always been good at finding new areas of work and business. The company has evolved in many directions and added new skills," she says: "In particular, we have developed a lot as a workplace. We are much more inclusive today, and we are a workplace with great flexibility, many opportunities to grow and clear value-based management. I think we are a far more attractive workplace today – and we must be if we are to attract new colleagues," she concludes.

PROFICIENCY ON THE PORT OF ESBJERG At NorSea Denmark, we have only the most skilled employees to carry out the daily workload. The trust and loyalty we receive from our customers is thanks to our competent and experienced personnel who clocks in every morning to make sure our base operation runs smoothly and seamlessly. Being on his 37th year of employment, Allan Steiness is one of our most experienced men and a first-hand witness of the tremendous transformation NorSea Denmark have undergone in the past four decades. “Many things have changed since I first started working on the dock, especially in the last ten years since NorSea bought Danbor. However, even if people and processes change, our goal of running an exemplary and efficient dock holds true to this day.” Allan’s fellow dock worker Brian Gjerlufsen chimes in: “NorSea is a fantastic place to work. Our workflows are finetuned to be digitalized and easily approachable, to ensure that we can do our job thoroughly to the high standards that we hold. This gives room for nurturing a spirit of collegiality, you rarely experience elsewhere.” To oversee daily operations in the warehouses, Logistics Coordinator Vinnie Oksen has an office space close by. She has been responsible for implementing the new warehouse management system. The management system, which was developed by KONCIV, has revolutionized how we administrate goods in our warehouses because of its many advanced settings. It opens for more possibilities to meet our customers’ needs, as we can safely process more goods efficiently. With our state-of-the-art warehouse management system and available storage room located quayside, NorSea Denmark offers great flexibility. Whether you need an interim repository or a long-term storage, our one-stop-shop offers service with an eye open for both the prior and the subsequent link of the value chain. EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT IN ENERGY SOLUTIONS Recently, two of our talented employees at NorSea Denmark Energy Solutions successfully completed their AROS Project Management Training. Project Manager, Stephan Scarpi, and Operation Manager, Anders Langerup, have received their official Project Management certificates from AROS Business Academy after completing the Project Management course. “This process has been very educational and ties in well with what we do at the NorSpie Consortium. We operate within a lot of specialized fields and the ability to move our projects forward in the best possible way is quintessential for succeeding in creating a healthy and sustainable business”, says Anders Langerup. “I’m sure the hands-on experience I have from my work will benefit greatly from having a scientifically grounded outlook.” Stephan Scarpi too expresses his delight with the recently completed course: “I’ve obtained a lot of valuable knowledge, that I can utilize in future projects. With my technical background, this course offers me the opportunity to couple my practical knowledge with relevant theoretical perspectives, which only strengthens my professional profile. I’m certain this will be valuable both to myself and NorSea Denmark.” At NorSea Denmark, we know that our employees are our greatest strength. Therefore, we are proud to support their development both professionally and personally. We wish Anders Langerup and Stephan Scarpi a big congratulations! HOW DO YOU DO, FELLOW KIDS? Yes, some of us here at NorSea are old-ish, but we DO try to keep up with the younger generation – with some success.🚀🏆🤳 Recently, our finance student Lise Snitgaard Sørensen nominated us for apprenticeship of the year in the category 'office specializing in economics' at Rybners, and prior to that our logistics trainee Anders Gammelgaard Knudsen nominated us for this year's Apprenticeship in HK South Jutland. We won both categories. No cap - OMG - sick lit.🔥 And yesterday, our student assistant Rebekka Aagaard Lauridsen graduated her Master of Science (MSc) in Marketing, Social Media, and Digitalization 🏁 – and has started full time with us in the Marketing Department, where she has already helped found the NYT-network for NorSea Young Talent for all the other inhouse kids. 🎈 Rebekka, Lise and Anders are not alone. Currently, we have 10 students and trainees in all departments – from IT and logistics to finance and ship agency, and we are looking for the next one – or two, actually: We have openings in the office and logistics departments, respectively. 😱 Would you like to become part of Denmark's largest offshore base in the heart of Esbjerg with more than 50 years of experience in base operation and logistics solutions? Then give us a ring-ding-ding-ding. 🤙

APPRENTICESHIP OF THE YEAR   Yesterday we were happy to congratulate our finance trainee, Lise Snitgaard Sørensen at her graduation. Lise has been part of our Finance department for nearly two years and has been a positive addition.   “Lise quickly became a natural part of our team and was a great resource from day one. She didn’t need many trials before she could operate independently and we had no concerns handing over the responsibility of different tasks. We are happy to announce that Lise will stay in our department with her new title as Controller full time.” Says Jeppe Skelmose, Financial Controller, who was responsible for her training.   Lise has been so satisfied with her time here that she secretly nominated NorSea Denmark as Apprenticeship of the year in the category ‘Kontor med speciale i økonomi’.   “At NorSea Denmark I feel treated equally to my colleagues. I have felt a belief in me as an employee and it has given me confidence in my competencies.” Lise writes in her nomination.   “We, as a company, feel it is a common responsibility to help create tomorrow’s employees. That we do it well enough to receive this kind of recognition makes me very proud.” Says Jesper Høj-Hansen, CEO at NorSea Denmark.   At the moment, NorSea Denmark has 10 apprentices and trainees split between everything from IT, logistics, office and ship agency.   The picture of Lise and Jeppe is borrowed from Rybners. Congratulations to all the graduates! 🇩🇰🥂
