At QGMI, we strive to build more sustainable and safer projects for everyone. For this reason, the sustainability team for each of our projects holds a daily meeting called Daily Sustainability Dialogues (DDS), which are essential for fostering a culture of environmental and social responsibility within the company. The aim of the DDS is to integrate sustainable practices into our daily activities and raise employee awareness about safe working practices. Employees actively participate by sharing their experiences and suggestions, and other topics such as efficient waste management, water and energy conservation, and workplace well-being are also discussed. Thanks to the DDS, we have achieved: ✔ An increase in workplace safety by adopting safer and more efficient techniques. ✔ A higher level of knowledge and participation in QGMI's sustainability practices. ✔ An increase in the correct use of personal protective equipment. ✔ Significant improvements in waste management and resource efficiency. ✔ A reduction in environmental impact. At #QGMI, we are committed to continuous improvement and always seek new and better ways to integrate #sustainability into our projects.

We're celebrating! QGMI has renewed its #Compliance ISO certification, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and integrity. This marks the seventh consecutive year we've achieved this certification, thanks to the dedication of our employees to continuously improving our processes and values.   ✔What does the renewal of QGMI's Compliance ISO certification imply? The renewal signifies that #QGMI has successfully passed an external audit evaluating the operation and effectiveness of our compliance management system, as well as our adherence to established objectives and policies. It also demonstrates our commitment to continually improving the system by incorporating best practices and adapting to legislative developments.   ✔How do we involve the entire organization in sustainable management and integrity? Our Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), Ingrid Matos - MBA/CCEP-I, explains that "certification is a collective process requiring collaboration and effort from all areas. Without this involvement, obtaining and maintaining certification would be very challenging, given the increasingly stringent compliance regulations, demanding stakeholders, and highly qualified internal and external auditors. We are making progress on Phase II of the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange in Accra, #Ghana. The 400-meter-long north-south viaduct will complement the east-west viaduct completed by #QGMI in 2020. Once finished, it will enhance vehicle flow, stimulate commercial activity in the area. Our goal is to ensure that Ghanaians can fully benefit from this essential infrastructure!

We have celebrated QGMI’s Safety Week 2024! Demonstrating our commitment to safety, our teams across three continents engaged in various activities to raise awareness and promote safe and healthy practices in the work environment. Workshops were conducted on the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE), the use of fire extinguishers, and how to respond in the event of an emergency or accident. Specialized doctors provided advice on preventing diseases such as malaria and dengue fever and emphasized the importance of sexual health. Additionally, activities were organized to promote a healthy lifestyle, and we collaborated with local schools to teach students the importance of crossing streets safely. The children of QGMI employees also had the opportunity to experience their parents' work environment and learn about the significance of working safely. Africa’s cities are the most rapidly growing in the world. This has its advantages, but without the proper urban planning, they can become very vulnerable to the effects of climate change:

Work has already started on our new project in #Benin, the road linking the towns of Ouidah and Kpomassè. The project consists of the construction and paving of 14 kilometres of road including drainage, road markings and solar street lighting. This is an important project for the region, as it aims to connect Ouidah to Kpomassé and will improve population’s access to basic services, develop the local trade and enhance tourism. Once completed, road conditions and safety for drivers will be improved. #QGMI

At #QGMI we build more than #infrastructure, we have a commitment to comunity empowerment. We believe in going far beyond of constructing roads or bridges, and to create a positive impact to the communities we serve is mandatory for us. Here´s a glimpse into some of the initiatives we undertake: 👉 Women: our initiatives focus on providing training and resources to encourage entrepreneurship. In addition, we focus on providing health training on diseases such as breast cancer, so that they learn how to detect it and how to act. 👉 Education: we actively support local schools by providing supplies and equipment, as well as give training courses on health, environment or waste treatment, among others, to create an environment where every child has access to quality education, laying the foundation for a brigther future. 👉 Healthcare: we share some tips on topics such as AIDS, cancer and STD so that men and women know what they are and how to detect them. 👉 Development: we focus on skill development initiatives to empower local residents. By providing training and employment opportunities, we contribute to the growth of a skilled worfoce, fostering economic development in the region. With these initiatives, we aim to create a lasting impact that extends beyond the completion of our projects. Because true success lies in the positive change we bring to the lives of the people and communities.
