Sophie Palatan and LMR, a love story at first sight 🌷 Sophie began her career at LMR in 2013 as an intern while studying agronomy and chemistry. After her internship, she continued to work at LMR, becoming one of our first in-house agronomists! She worked on Roses in Turkey, Vetiver in Haïti, and developed our Indian platform for Jasmine and Tuberose. Years later, she decided to focus on building the base of our Citrus Innovation Program for perfumery, now supported by our new Innovation Center in Florida Recently, we were proud to promote her to a new position: Scent Natural Ingredients Lead. Her job ?  👉 Understanding perfumers and customers’ needs 👉 Translating these needs into projects within the R&D Naturals Team 👉 Ensuring the visibility and use of all LMR innovations in the perfume community Sophie loves challenges and knows that she needs to combine agility and innovation in her daily work. She strives to balance significant scientific advancements with quick, workable solutions. Congrats, Sophie, on your 10 years at LMR! Great news! We are thrilled to welcome our first in-house perfumer, Gwendolyn Le Roy 🌷 Her unique career path began with pharmacy and chemistry before she discovered the incredible world of scents at ISIPCA. She joined IFF in 2014 as an intern at our creative center in Neuilly-sur-Seine, then moved on to the in-house perfumery school where she was mentored by our top perfumers: Dominique Ropion, Carlos Benaïm, Patricia Hidalgo and Yves Cassar. One of her main inspirations? Travel! She has the opportunity to live in New-York and Dubaï thanks to IFF, and she also travels a lot independently around the world. However, she never forgets her Breton roots, and returns to her native region very often. The sea and regional traditions inspire her work. Another quality? She is a sporty perfumer! Passionate about gymnastics and surfing, she sees many common values between perfumery and sports. To her, perfumery and gymnastics are two passions, but passion isn’t enough. Both athletes and perfumers need to be rigorous and perseverant, able to deal with setbacks, and ready to start from square one. Good to have you with us Gwendolyn! In 2020, we launched a new platform in Serbia thanks to a unique partnership with a local woman involved in agricultural activities. Ljijana Petrovic is dedicated to developing natural ingredients in her hometown Tamjanica, creating a successful business model that is reenergizing rural Serbia. Today, we cultivate and harvest immortelle, rose and lavender on her fields. Explore our production site in Aumont-Aubrac with our team leader, Patrick Berthuit! Patrick began his journey with LMR at the very beginning of our operations in Aumont-Aubrac, when there were only 4 employees working here on narcissus, jonquil, and tree moss. Our site in Aumont is truly unique as we exclusively process natural products, which require rapid processing. Narcissus are harvested during the day and arrive at Aumont-Aubrac shortly thereafter. What challenges have we overcome at this site? Patrick has witnessed the inception of our two workshops: - Initially, we established the high-performance workshop for our food products, utilizing solvent-based extraction methods. This workshop is where our blackcurrant buds are transformed.   - Three years ago, we opened a new workshop: the CO2 workshop, featuring a natural installation for CO2 extraction under pression. It was a suspended moment, a joyful party, a beautiful tribute to the women who created LMR 40 years ago, Monique Rémy. On the 6th of June we were lucky to celebrate our 40 years anniversary, in Grasse, the cradle of Perfumery. It all happened in our experimental field, where we had the pleasure to host the company’s teams, the mayor of Grasse Jérôme Viaud, and the press! Monique Rémy, our founder, was a true hero of the perfume industry. A woman in a man's world, she offered exceptional natural ingredients to perfumers and flavorists. She understood the beauty of natural raw materials at a time when everyone believed in synthetics. She passed away this year, and we will always remain faithful to her heritage. Her business vision?
