The En-WASH Activity, in collaboration with the Garu District Assembly and District Health Directorates (DHD), have constructed a seven-unit biodigester, gender-friendly, and inclusive toilet facility at the Songo Health Center in Garu District. This state-of-the-art facility, includes separate toilets for male and female clients, facilities for people with disabilities, and dedicated toilets and baths for the maternity section and staff. To ensure effective use and maintenance, the team conducted comprehensive user education sessions for health workers, community leaders, clients, and DHD staff. This facility enhances the health and well-being of the Songo community and also serves as a model for future replication by the District Assembly and development partners. #GlobalCommunities #EnWASH #Sanitation #Hygiene #CommunityHealth #InclusiveFacilities #SustainableDevelopment

The En-WASH Activity, in collaboration with the University for Development Studies, has successfully installed advanced data loggers at eight stations across the Nabogu and Nasia sub-basins in the Northern region of Ghana. These state-of-the-art devices meticulously monitor groundwater levels, temperature, conductivity, salinity, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), collecting essential data bi-monthly. It is expected that this exercise will contribute to understanding the seasonal trends and fluctuations of groundwater levels in relation to climate variability, and also inform decision-making related to the sustainable management of water resources in Northern Ghana. By partnering with key government agencies like the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources and the Water Resources Commission, Global Communities is dedicated to translating these insights into effective water management strategies. A critical component of this initiative involves sensitizing community members about the role and benefits of these data loggers. This engagement fosters a greater understanding and appreciation of sustainable water practices among local populations. Our commitment to leveraging technology and collaboration underscores the importance of innovative solutions in addressing water resource challenges. #SustainableWater #Innovation #WaterManagement #CommunityHealth #GroundwaterMonitoring

Our team recently visited schools in Moagduri District, North East Region, to evaluate the impact of Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) training conducted under the En-WASH Activity. We were thrilled to witness the enthusiastic adoption of the WASH Game, particularly its Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) component. Students actively engaged with picture cards depicting essential MHM behaviors: tracking menstrual cycles, supporting peers during menstruation, and maintaining personal hygiene. This interactive approach effectively educates and entertains, driving positive changes in WASH behaviors across communities, homes, schools, and CHPS compounds. To ensure thorough education, we conducted detailed MHM sessions that sparked insightful conversations among both girls and boys. Their active participation and feedback are crucial as we strive to foster supportive environments that prioritize health and well-being. #WASH #PublicHealth #MenstrualHygieneManagement #WaterSanitationHygiene #HealthyCommunities #EducationForAll
