MAIN GOALS - GENERAL ACTIVITIES - FIELD OF EXPERTISES

The Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (the Alliance) is a coalition of leaders committed to deploying finance for city level climate action at scale by 2030.
The Alliance serves as the only multi-level and multi-stakeholder coalition aimed at closing the investment gap for urban and subnational climate projects and infrastructure worldwide.
The Alliance was launched in 2014 by the previous UN Secretary General. In 2019 the Alliance was officially renewed during the UNSG Climate Action Summit where the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) took over Secretariat. Furthermore, the Alliance took over the hosting of the Leadership for Urban Climate Investment (LUCI) initiative – an ambitious framework for catalyzing climate action along the entire value chain of subnational climate finance and launched at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019.

ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS

The Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance is creating a new zero carbon buildings stream in 2022 and is particularly interested in the finance debate around this sector. As GlobalABC has 215 members including 34 countries, the Alliance wants to be part of the leading global platform to exchange and share knowledge with different governments, the private sector, civil society and intergovernmental and international organizations on the finance topic and better coordinate its activities.
