MAIN GOALS - GENERAL ACTIVITIES - FIELD OF EXPERTISES

The International Code Council is the leading global source of model codes and standards and building safety solutions that include product evaluation, accreditation, technology, training, and certification. The codes, standards, and solutions provided by the International Code Council are used to ensure safe, affordable, and sustainable communities and buildings worldwide. As a non-governmental membership organization, the International Code Council is the largest international association of building safety professionals. We support our stakeholders in the building safety ecosystem with building safety solutions that draw directly from the expertise we develop in authoring the international codes and standards and apply that to product evaluation, accreditation, certification, codification, training, and technology.

ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS

In the U.S., the International Code Council is at the forefront of promoting building energy codes and helping jurisdictions to meet their Paris Climate Accord carbon reduction goals through pathways to net zero construction (see https://www.iccsafe.org/products-and-services/codes-standards/energy/). On the global stage, the International Code Council is the co-founder and a core member of the Global Resiliency Dialogue (www.globalresiliency.org) and is a member of the IEA-IBC Building Energy Codes Working Group.
