This time of year is particularly active for us as we focus on student engagement. 🔎Several students are currently participating in our summer practice, gaining valuable hands-on experience. We have also successfully concluded two academies, Embedded and Automotive, where students showcased their newfound knowledge through a joint final project. Additionally, we've supported Lumen Engineering through consultations and lectures, and our involvement extended to serving on the jury for their grand final. Whether at large-scale events or smaller gatherings, we continually engage with aspiring young professionals. 🤗 Through our partnerships with educational institutions, we commit to imparting the latest technical knowledge and industry trends to students. At this year's .debug Conference, our GlobalLogic booth was abuzz with excitement. In addition to showcasing the benefits of working with us and discussing new career opportunities with numerous developers, we also infused our booth with a touch of fun through various video games and prize competitions. One of the highlights was a guessing game where participants had to estimate the number of magnets in a glass container. We planned for three prizes, but the participants pleasantly surprised us. Remarkably, three individuals guessed the exact number of magnets – 53! As we approach the end of the Embedded Academy, students are diligently working on their final projects. Among the participants is Denis Kalamir, Zagreb Zagreb University of Applied Sciences – TVZ (Third year, Electrical engineering),  one of the dedicated students from Croatia. For nearly three months, Denis has been regularly attending sessions at the GlobalLogic office, engaging with fellow participants from Croatia and other CEE countries. ▶️ Throughout this journey, our engineers have provided invaluable professional support to the students. ⚡️ Denis recently shared his impressions of the program with us: "Before starting the Embedded Academy, I had more hardware than software experience, and I'm glad that now I can improve my code writing. If I compare the faculty and this type of education, I would say that the biggest difference is in organization of workshops. At the university, we have limited resources and everything is shown to us in a short time, while here at the beginning the mentors present a small part of the problem and you are expected to continue looking for solutions based on what you heard in the lectures. This encourages creativity and teamwork, and if you get stuck, there is a mentor. We are working on the final project, and the additional motivation to make it the best possible is that it can be the ticket to the first job in the company". Btw. the Embedded Academy is one of several academies organized by GlobalLogic to offer students practical learning opportunities. 🤗 Throughout 3-month training program designed especially for students with the basic knowledge (such as Linux, C, algorithms, etc.), they will acquire crucial skills for embedded systems software development. Understanding the working environment and the unique advantages of Japan, India, and Croatia requires first-hand experience. Our colleague, Abhishek Babhulkar, a software engineer, has had the opportunity to live and work in all three countries. 🌏 Abhishek shared his experiences and observations in the "Foreigners in Croatia" section within show "Dobro jutro Hrvatska," on HTV (Croatian National Television). 📺 Despite his young age, Abhishek has already gained significant insights into the working cultures of Japan and Croatia, in addition to his native India. During the 14-minute interview, he delves into the differences in work styles and job types across these countries. Beyond his professional life, Abhishek also discusses his passions for photography and traveling. Our Embedded Academy, designed for students from the CEE region, is now in its final phase. Four participants from Croatia are among those working on the practical component of the program. 👏 Over the past three months, they have absorbed theoretical knowledge from our experts, and they are now applying this knowledge to hands-on tasks. Adding to the excitement, one of the students will be offered a job offer at the end of the program—a fantastic opportunity for anyone starting their career. 🤗 Luka Leko from Zagreb University of Applied Sciences – TVZ (Fifth year, Electrical engineering) shared with us his thoughts about the program. "I have had the opportunity to work on some projects in companies, but I have never been able to learn so much from experts during three months. On past projects with companies, I worked from home, and this model in GlobalLogic suits me better because we are in the same space with experienced experts who we can talk to and ask for advice. The atmosphere is relaxed and I really like that. Education helped me orient myself. At first I saw myself purely as software engineer, now I see that Embedded is what interests me. I am looking forward to the final project where we will be able to demonstrate the knowledge we have learned".
