It was an inspiring morning at Backweston where I announced €24.2m in research grants for 20 cutting edge projects. Covering a wide range of areas including climate change, water quality and biodiversity, animal welfare, forestry, food safety, and farmer mental health these projects are the latest part of the pipeline producing the future solutions the agri-food and farmers sector need. I was also delighted to confirm that I am increasing the stipend for postgraduates on Department funded projects from €19,000 to €25,000. Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine
