PC Dapodi/Talegaon Pune focuses on developing business opportunities in diverse products portfolio for the Indian and international markets. Diverse products comprising of air, gas compression blocks and systems of oil injected/oil free screws, pistons and centrifugal packages, air treatment equipment, dryers, filters and medical equipments. You will inspire and manage a dynamic team of strategic sourcing and supplier quality for the execution of local and international projects as per the most demanding applications and customers.

Main mission

This position is reporting to the General Manager of the Product Company Dapodi/Talegaon and an integral part of PC Management Team with mission to develop and safeguard the competitive advantage of local sourcing in India by maintaining a competitive Indian supplier base, targeting operational excellence (Quality - Delivery -Cost), modularity, localization, zero defect green channel reliable supplier, New supplier development, Early supplier involvement in our NPD(New product Development) process (co-engineering) and VPI (Value Proposition Integration) and overall total cost competitiveness. Developing strong supplier quality systems, Kaizen capabilities, SHE processes and promoting sustainability in our suppliers will also be a key priority.

Job Description

• Develop strategic plan to manage a commodity-based supplier platform and to achieve goals of quality, delivery, and cost improvement for both production and aftermarket requirements.
• Develop and implement modular product development strategy from purchase perspective.
• Develop contracts and manage healthy relationships with suppliers to provide a stable product supply, technical product knowledge and year-over-year cost reductions.
• Research and evaluate potential suppliers (technically and financially) to meet Atlas Copco’s needs and drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and monitor performance of existing suppliers and to take corrective action as required in order to consolidate supply base to best performing suppliers.
• Provide local market supplier knowledge and international sourcing support to divisional commodity teams.
• Safeguard that the implemented purchasing processes and systems within the product company are state of the art and aligned with best industry standard fair, transparent and secure digital process to avoid any kind of leakages of sensitive information and also divisional best practices. Online digital efficient negotiation process to get best pricing and also reverse auction wherever is feasible to get the best prices with minimal human influence
• Ensure creating and maintaining purchase policy and procedures upto date and follow guidelines of group internal audits and significant supplier audit process to meet all ISO, EMS, EnMS, OHS and others
• Ensure the purchasing function’s early involvement and participation on teams for new product development (co-engineering), cost savings, inventory reduction, process improvement, etc. with committed On Time In Full execution.
• Develop Kaizen, first time right, SHEQ and sustainability capabilities in our supplier base.
• Develop and lead a successful team of cohesive, competent, committed and result oriented people.
• Drive CC7 projects within all the divisions.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Project to ensure seamless deliveries of right material with right quality and exactly when it is required to keep delivery performance of the projects above 95%.
• Maintain a high focus on working capital by carefully manage assets, longer supplier payment terms, promote supply chain financing, reduce PPV by proactively monitoring and contract terms, MOQ and lead time and ensure that inventory and quality cost would be maintained as per given targets.
• Ensure quality of parts and on time delivery received from the suppliers and also ensure part packaging for sustainable damage free logistics from supplier to our warehouse
• Manage Non Core Commodity purchases of entire product company as per demand and requirement of different functions under central sourcing structure. Negotiating and creating rate contracts for all OEM equipment spare parts to maintain cost effective plant operations and maintenance.
• Creating enough supplier base for all Non core purchases to avoid single supplier quote approvals from General Managers and make process efficient and effective.
• Support project purchases, various events of organizations and also setting up SLA for various labor contractors, supplier contractors and service providers at production and various department in PC
• Ensuring Legal compliance of all suppliers and contractors as per local laws and also following all group guidelines for chemical substances and restricted and prohibited material use
• Sustainability to be promoted and reduce overall Co2 reduction and energy savings in logistics and supply chain by promoting CNG, bio diesel, EV and H2 mobility.
• Establish regular supplier evaluation and ranking process based on quality, delivery reliability, cost, sustainability, energy efficiency and technical competency criteria and regularly recognize efforts and motivate them to improve consistency
• Extra focus should be given to establish and maintain the right organizational structure to:
• Use IT tools to fullest extent to improve competitiveness in buying and supply chain process and foster Digitalisation.
• Building world class supplier Base for the organization.
• Identify, develop, suppsusort and follow-up talented people with a good potential to grow within the Product Company;
• Develop and support a spirit of open communication, fairness and respect for the individual in all areas of operation;
  
  
  

Interact with Global Sourcing organization in order to build-up a single common goal;

network with other sourcing departments within the Compressor Technique and the Group in a constructive and productive way that supports synergy.

Experience And Knowledge Requirements.

• Records of contract negotiation and execution with suppliers with respect to requirements of quality, cost, delivery and supplier relation management.
• Experience in developing and implementing a sourcing strategy in an operational environment delivering improved sustainable results.
• Strong commercial contract conditions and supply chain management knowledge
• Sound knowledge in new supplier development, manufacturing process, global supply chain, planning and system will be an added advantage.
• Sound supplier quality assurance experience and knowledge of quality process and various technical knowledge on products qualifications, validations, ITP, welding process knowledge and fabrication process knowhow and experience.
• Experience in handling and understanding of rotating machinery.
• Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
• Experience of localization of air/gas compression system (New Products Development, Engineering and Localization) will be added advantage.
• Experience working with ERP system SAP/BPCS/PIPA and advanced competence of MS-Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
• A good understanding of "The Way we do things" with extra attention for "Business Code of Practice" and "Supplier Risk Evaluation".
• Candidate should have experience more than 15-18 years in Managerial position.
  
  
  

Educational Requirements

University degree in Engineering or business/operations management. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and business finance is a plus.
