The answer is always in the same tense and plural form as the clue. If the clue says 'Heats up water', the answer will be 'BOILS'. Not 'BOILED' or 'BOILING'.
Crossword clues ending with a question mark (?) are hinting at puns. For example, 'Swear words?' can be a clue for 'OATHS'.
Solve the smallest words first, to place enough letters across the grid.
Take a break from solving. Clues that seem confusing at first can make sense if you return to them later.
