Last week, we were proud to welcome clients and friends to our New York City office for a family office roundtable co-hosted with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority. Peter Alfano, deputy managing partner of the NYC office, delivered welcome remarks on behalf of the firm, and Khursheed (Khush) Choksy, Senior Vice President, International Member Relations & Senior Vice President, Middle East & Turkey at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce spoke on cross-border and business relations between the US and Middle East. Ehab Elsonbaty (PhD), partner and chair of the firm’s US-Middle East Initiative, then kicked off a lively discussion with Laila Aljefairi, Vice President – Professional Services at QFC and Roscoe Banks, Associate General Counsel at QFC, along with two of QFC’s clients, Yousef A. of Avenir Group and Ali Khadjavi of Feedback. Finally, DLA Piper partners Scott Kapp and Adam Spector shared a presentation on investment trends in the family office space, followed by a networking reception.
