🌟 Delving into the heart of rangeland innovation 🌟 📍 On April 23rd we unveiled the groundbreaking results of "Namibia - A New Dataset for Rangeland and Pasture Management" during the final workshop in Windhoek. 🌍 Our project, financed by Lacuna Fund, was aimed at creating an open-source dataset to support Namibian farmers to make informed decisions. 🌱 It was an enriching event where academics, students and experts came together to share invaluable insights and perspectives, shaping the future of sustainable land management. 🔍 Attendees were divided into groups, participating in interactive exercises designed to elucidate the importance of having Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) datasets.  🤝 We would like to thank our partners Omeva Consulting, the University of Namibia, Dr. Axel Rothauge from AgriConsult Namibia and Cornelis van der Waal from Agri Ecological Services for their invaluable collaboration in pursuing this ambitious goal. 💻 The final dataset will be launched in the upcoming weeks. 💡 Be part of our mission to shape a more sustainable future through innovation! 🚀 Follow us for updates on our leading-edge projects and activities!

🌟 2024 marks the beginning of a new era for Namibian farmers! 🌟 🚀 We are thrilled to announce that the third round of data collection for the project financed by Lacuna Fund has been finalized. 🛰 🌿 In January 2023, we embarked on this revolutionary journey with Omeva Consulting, the University of Namibia and other Namibian partners to develop a dataset combining satellite data and ground-collected data on Namibian rangelands. 🔍 The goal of the project is to create an open-source dataset that will support farmers in making data-driven estimates on plant production for the upcoming growing season to plan for critical drought decision dates, annual pasture stocking rates and grazing rotations. 📍 The final workshop of the project will take place on April 23rd in Windhoek. 🤝 During the event, we will have the opportunity to present the dataset and discuss future opportunities to support Namibian farmers and stakeholders. 🔜 Follow us to stay up to date with the latest news on the project and the final workshop! 🌐 Find more information here: https://lnkd.in/dxWHjVAM

🌟Let us take a moment to remember the kick-off meeting of TAILSCAN Project🌟   📍The event, which took place on November 30th in the stunning framework of Costa dei Trabocchi in Abruzzo Region, was aimed at planning and defining the next steps of this game-changing project.   🤝While the meeting was a tremendous networking opportunity for Project Partners and Collaborators, it also gave all participants the chance to discuss the current situation related to pig welfare in several EU countries and share perspectives on project goals.    🚀In this amazing journey towards innovation, Farm4trade also presented to all participants its brand new laboratory, which is set to advance research and development in the fields of AI and Computer vision applied to animal welfare.
