DeShaun Foster is catching a lot of slack for some awkward moments in his Big Ten Football Media Day opening statement. We can relate. One of the toughest and most important roles a leader has is to clearly and confidently communicate their vision. That's extra tough if you're someone who gets nervous speaking in front of people or who becomes overcome in charged or emotional moments. We don't know DeShaun's situation, but in the spirit of offering constructive feedback, here are a few tips to help—and you!—step up to the podium as a leader: 🌟 Come prepared. Know what you want to say and why it's important. 🌟 Practice. In front of the mirror. Out loud to your cat. In your head on the bus. Every rep helps. 🌟 Acknowledge your nerves. Nothing makes you more relatable than a little self-deprecating humor. What are some tricks you use to be your best when making a presentation or speaking to a crowd? #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipskills

As leadership coaches and consultants, we're definitely not mental health professionals (or world-class comedians), but there are moments in this sketch that feel awfully familiar. 🤣 Rest in peace, Bob Newhart. Thanks for the laughs.
