🌍Empowering African children: How The Film Industry is making big strides👧🏾👦🏿   Before the advent of YouTube and video streaming in Africa, our children mainly relied on foreign animated cartoons like Teletubbies for entertainment and education. However, local edutainment series such as 'Ubongo Kids,' 'Akili and Me,' and 'Know Zone' are making strides by providing relatable African content, featuring local characters and stories. These shows not only entertain but also educate, helping children connect with their heritage and promoting cultural pride. Learn more from our MultiChoice Talent Factory Eastern Africa Academy Director Victoria Goro on the significance of supporting and promoting African children's content. #DayOfTheAfricanChild #AfricanAnimation #RepresentationMatters #EnrichingLives #MultiChoiceTalentFactory

Earlier this week, the MultiChoice Talent Factory Eastern Africa Academy students Linda Dinah and Grace Wangui pitched a documentary concept to Nairobi City County team led by Dr. Anastasia Mutethya Nyalita, CECM - Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service.   This documentary project will highlight the impact of Governor Johnson Sakaja's Dishi na County initiative, which ensures the provision of nutritious meals to children in public primary schools and ECD centers across Nairobi County. Production is set to begin in September, with a screening planned for later this year.   Also in attendance were Stella Kemunto (Deputy Director, City Culture and the Arts), Beryl Okundi (Director, Public Communications), Christine Miano (Principal Culture and Arts Officer), Shaun Osore (Private Secretary to the County Chief Office) as well as our Academy Director Victoria Goro and Programme Manager Christine Koileken.   MTF remains committed to nurturing emerging African filmmakers. Opportunities like this empower our students to create meaningful content that sparks conversations and drives positive change.   Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey! 🎥🌟   #MultiChoiceTalentFactory #EnrichingLives
