🌡️ May 2024: Hottest May on Record – The Need for Resilience is Greater Than Ever According to the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), May 2024 has been the warmest May ever recorded, marking the 12th consecutive month of record-breaking global temperatures. The global average temperature was 0.65°C above the 1991-2020 average and a staggering 1.52°C above the pre-industrial average. 🚀 🇮🇳 This week, we had the first major claim settlement event of Malabar Regional Co-operative Milk Producers� Union (MRCMPU), one of the three Milk unions of MILMA. MRCMPU, an organisation representing over 1,000 village-level Dairy Co-operative Societies in Kerala, South India, held the event to highlight the impact of MILMA's initiatives. 🗣 Inaugurated by Mrs Chinju Rani, State Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, alongside the Chairman of Milma and the Managing Director of MRCMPU, the event showcased the success of #IBISA revolutionary Heat Index product. 🐮Through 𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐀'𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭, 38,568 cattle were insured from MRCMPU, benefiting 7,054 farmers with claims from 667 milk socities. 🎯 How does our Heat Index work? Three weeks ago Maria Mateo Iborra, CEO of IBISA, attended the “Climate Evening” at Lloyd's organised by Insurtech Gateway as part of the London Climate Action Week 💚 This networking event showcased five climate insurtech companies that are making a real difference, laying down the foundations for the net zero transition and financial protection for those on the front lines of climate change. 🚀 Maria explained: “IBISA NETWORK aims to create a safety net for the most climate-exposed populations and businesses. We focus on agriculture – where farmers are highly vulnerable, and women labourers – who are often underinsured and more susceptible to climate risks. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we provide affordable and efficient insurance solutions to these groups, as well as other segments such as those lacking access to finance and energy. Our goal is to enhance climate and financial resilience, ensuring that the most vulnerable communities can thrive despite environmental challenges.
