#GermanCooperation provides support to both refugee children from Ukraine and children from host communities, in the process of teaching them skills for solving social problems, effective integration into society and solidarity. During 22 - 26 July, the summer camp "Friendship" was organized in the village of Ivancha, in the Moldtelecom boarding house, which gathered about 80 participants from Moldova and refugee children from Ukraine. A special program has been prepared for children by the international team of trainers and volunteers. The special guest of the summer camp is the GIZ expert on Sports for Development - Nadica Jovanović, who organizes sports activities for personal growth, which promotes better interaction between children, develops motor skills, increases physical resistance and improves general well-being. The event is organized within the framework of the Supporting Moldovan communities in hosting Ukrainian refugees project, financed by BMZ and implemented by GIZ Moldova in partnership with Humanitarian Association Christian Philanthropy.

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming public forum, “Moldova on the Path to Europe: Countering Disinformation in the EU Accession Referendum,” on July 25, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel, 77 Mitropolit Varlaam Street, Chisinau. This important event will bring together experts, policymakers, and leaders to discuss the risks of disinformation around Moldova’s EU accession referendum. Our goal is to support informed decision-making and address the challenges of the EU integration process. The forum will focus on three main areas: understanding the challenges and opportunities of Moldova’s EU integration process, navigating the complexities of an EU accession referendum, and finding strategies to counter disinformation in the political and social context. The event is organized by InfoTrust Alliance Moldova, a project implemented by GIZ Moldova and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, in collaboration with IPIS – Institute for Strategic Initiatives.

#GermanCooperation promotes the principles of sustainability and supports its partners to learn and apply them. 📅 On 12 and 13 July 2024, representatives of 12 non-governmental organizations from all over Moldova participated in the “Sustainable Events - Innovative Strategies for NGOs” workshop. This took place at EcoVillage Moldova in Rîșcova, Criuleni – the location with multiple eco-practices and perfect for learning. The trainers of this workshop were the participants of the “Events4Future” course previously organized by IBB Dortmund. ✅ Participants discussed environmental issues and the impact on sustainable event management, strategies for sustainable catering, best practices of sustainability and environmentally friendly events, as well as started drafting internal regulations on sustainable event management for their organizations. The workshop was organized by the GIZ regional project “Strengthening civil society in the Eastern Partnership”, financed by #BMZ and co-financed by the European Union. #CSOEaP #BetterLiveBeyondCapitals #IBB #Events4Future #SustainableLocalDevelopment

‘Information manipulation and interference are undermining our democracies’   Also in Moldova, the spread of false information, alternative facts and aggressive communication poses a threat to national security and democratic processes. Many the circling disinformation narratives are targeting women and aim to discredit Moldova’s EU accession process.   In her recent interview with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Ana Revenco, the director of the Moldovan Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation (CSCCD), speaks about the Moldovan way of dealing with disinformation.   Read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/dz8ih8WK   On behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office, the “Info Trust Alliance” project implemented by GIZ supports Moldovan partners in their efforts to analyze disinformation and spread factful information instead.
