DID YOU KNOW.. Sarcomas are part of a diverse group of cancers that arise from connective tissues, such as bones, muscles, fat, and cartilage. This means they can affect various parts of the body, not just the brain. Awareness and early detection are crucial for better outcomes in treating these cancers. 💪🔬 In #Africa, the impact of sarcomas is particularly significant. Africa accounted for 73.0% (25,010 of 34,270) of the incidence and 86.6% (13,066 of 15,086) of the deaths from Kaposi sarcoma worldwide (Cancer Info) (Verywell Health). Limited access to healthcare resources often results in late-stage diagnoses, making awareness and early detection even more crucial for better outcomes in treating these cancers. #SarcomaAwarenessMonth #KaposiSarcoma #CancerAwareness #HealthcareInnovation

A major milestone at the AMCE African Health Forum 2024 was the MoU signing between Afreximbank and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. This collaboration, under the Presidential Initiative for Unlocking Healthcare Value Chains (PVAC), will channel USD $1 billion into Nigeria’s healthcare sector. In a further show of commitment, the Federal Government recently approved N25bn for the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). This funding aims to expand and enhance healthcare delivery across the nation. These initiatives strongly resonate with AMCE’s goals of providing world-class care through innovative research, development, and education. We are aligned with the vision of transforming Nigeria's healthcare system and working towards Universal Healthcare Coverage (UHC) for all Nigerians.
