AIP State of Industry Update Webinar #5- Product Stewardship & Away From Home Collection – 21 August 2024   The 5th AIP State of Industry Webinar will look at a wide range of successful product stewardship and Away from Home programs that actively engage the consumer with the collection. Product Stewardship Programs enable households access to recycling and safe disposal services for products once they have reached their end of life.   Many of the Product Stewardship programs have been designed to capture and reprocess packaging and materials that cannot be collected through a traditional Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). ‘Away from Home’ collection and drop off points are established for these materials or packs so that they don’t end up in landfill and can have a longer lifecycle. Some hazardous and flammable products require safe disposal such as paints, chemicals and batteries and Away from Home collection ensures the product is disposed of safely. These programs keep valuable resources circulating in the economy for as long as possible, reduce the impact of a product on the environment and offer effective end-of-life recovery systems.   Whether it is soft plastics, pharmaceutical blister packs, aseptic cartons, make up, toner and ink cartridges, batteries, paint, e-waste or coffee cups, everyone can proactively engage with numerous Product Stewardship programs across the country. Find out more about some of the unique and innovative programs that are available and how your business, and your household can get on board.   Panellists will include: Steve Morriss MAIP, Head of Circularity, Close the Loop Jason Rijnbeek, Business Development, Pharmacycle Brendan Lee, Circular Economy Manager, Closed Loop Environmental Solutions Vikas Ahuja, Sustainability Director, Tetra Pak   All AIP webinars attain points towards the Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) designation.   Book your place today. Please share the details with your colleagues. https://lnkd.in/gDBhxfkC

Hello #Packaging #Maker, #Professional & Enthusiast, My ‘Take-aways’ from the #APECI #AFTERWORK held last Thursday… And the most important norms to implement … ✨ The meet-up was a good opportunity to engage with PR, Commercial and Marketing Representatives of some of the key Packaging Makers & Users in the country including: Hadrien K-G of #SONACO (corrugated box), Cinthia kouadio of #Multipack (plastic containers), Evelyne KOUAME of #Plastica (plastic extrusion), Ranya Bouchib of #LC #Packaging (bags & flexible packaging solutions), Moussa Keita of #CDT (Agribusiness transformation equipment)… whom we thank for their attendance 🙏 ✨ From the short presentation delivered by Mr Bakary Coulibaly, MD of #Enval – the only accredited lab for Food, packaging safety, & environment compliance in sub-Saharan Africa, these are the 'must-do', to sell or export products: 👉 ensure products comply with local & international norms: certifications such as HACCP are recommended, to reassure importers that food poisoning risks have been mitigated 👉 Traceability (bar & QR codes) are 'must-have' to facilitate products recalls, in case quality issues arise 👉 Environment – friendly Recyclable material and Smart packaging are new trends that Customers are increasingly fond of, and looking for… ✨ Which of these initiatives are you already implementing? 💁♂️ #apeci #packaging #sustainability #recyclable #apeciafterwork

Hello #Packaging Makers, #Professionals & #African #Food Lovers, What is the most #Sustainable manner to preserve and transport #smoked #fish ? ✨ In Africa and many other parts of the world, ‘coastal populations’ love to consume smoked fish. I must admit that I often fall for its delicious taste, in stews and fried rice… 🥘 👉 However, for the ‘Diaspora’ living far away from the local open markets where the product is sourced, it’s very hectic to access to this delicacy… 😋 Well, not any longer … ✨ A team of 3 very brilliant students from the Kwame Nkrumah University in Ghana, has developed a ‘bio pack’ container which enables smoke fish traders to transport it safely, without it losing its flavour. The pack is made with a fiber board derived from ‘water yacinth’ flower … and is biodegradable … 🎁 ✨ This invention which was first presented at the Ghanaian ‘5th Innovation Packaging Challenge’-winning ‘Best project’ Award, was further presented to the ‘WorldStar’ Student Packaging (World Packaging Organisation’s Global Packaging Contest) and ended up collecting 4 Awards : 🏆 Gold Award Winner 🥇 Gold medal in Food category 🥈 Silver Medal for Sustainability 🏅 Bronze Medal for Safe Food Packaging ✨ The prizes were received (on behalf of KNUST Team) by Mr Kofi Essuman (WPO Vice President of Education) and Ms Edna Amo-Dua 🌸 ... from the hands of the President of WPO World Packaging Organisation, Madam Luciana Pellegrino 🌸 and Ms Soha Atallah🌸 WPO VP Marketing, during an outstanding award ceremony organised in Bangkok. 👏 Congratulations to the Winners, for the well-deserved accolades !!! 🤩 ✨ As Jury Member for the Ghanaian ‘5th Innovation Packaging Competition’, I’m so happy and proud to see African Packaging Talent being recognised and applauded by the Global Packaging Community… 😇 … and take this opportunity to invite more African Students & Business Brands to showcase their innovations via Packaging competitions… #worldstarawards #wpo #packaging #knust #apo #sustainablepackaging #packinstudio

    Informa Global Support

#Informa Egypt New Office, Actually there has been a long story behind this place, a story of dedicated hardworking and sincere efforts for months and months coming from faithful powerful team members. We have been through the toughest challenges ever, however with the persistence and dedicated work from everyone, this office came to Live. Informa Egypt New Office was inspired by Informa offices globally such as 5HP in London, Singapore and New York. Yet with a very special touch from our Egyptian Heritage. Breakout Spaces, collaborations areas and meeting rooms are all inspired by ancient and modern cities of Egypt, especially the "IRTU". New Place means new culture, new and advanced technologies. At the new work space you can enjoy your full day working among different areas such as basecamps, touchdowns, meeting rooms and the gallery. The new space encourages all Informa standards, concepts and morals like " The Power of Us" and "Everyone is included", and because everyone is included I need to include names to thank them: Hany Khafagy and Mohamed Moukhtar Gamaleldin our stakeholders for their time and big efforts in delivering this project to that level. Project Team James Vause Matthew Tyler Sheena Vadher Serkan Salih Gemma King Jemel Santiago Reji Antony Alex McCann John Regis for all their efforts and support. The most amazing OSA Amina Yousri for her dedicated faithful work Behind the scenes soldiers and coworkers who have proven the true meaning of the "The Power of Us" Esmat Assal Radwa El Shamy Raeesa Yusuf Ginalyn Olaes. Our champions Tarek Elbannan many things couldn't be happened to that level without you, Reham Khalaf for your high commitment and your instant support on every call, Mohamed Abdelmaksoud for your support at the most hardest times in your life. To everyone at Informa Egypt, for their patience and cooperation, for their good impressions during the soft opening week, seeing "happy faces" around making us feel the achievement. To all the leaders among the region and outside it, thank you too. Outside Informa, I would like to thank Savills Team the Project Management, SCAS Team the General Contractor, CEC the MEP consultant, Hoping that I have included all the names (apology if I have missed anyone) and thank you to everyone took part to make this true 🙏 10 Years Informa Egypt 💪 #informa
