FULFILLING "AMBITIONS"! The deck officers and third engineer on board Iver Ambition all started out as cadets with big ambitions. Thanks to the KVNR-PIT cadetship programme (Batches 2, 3, 11 and 14), followed by many years of hard work and dedication, they now take care of one of our modern high-heat tankers. We are proud to have them as part of the Iver Ships family! Since the start of the KVNR-PIT (De Koninklijke Vereniging van Nederlandse Reders/Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners - Palompon Institute of Technology) Cadetship Programme in 2001, we have invested in the development of “homegrown” officers, many of whom are still actively sailing in our fleet. The retention rate of cadets who become a junior officer is about 70% and we currently operate a large pool of senior officers originating from this programme. Multi-role offshore-support vessel VOS Gorgeous recently completed her very first survey campaign for international subsea specialist Sulmara, one of our valued clients. The vessel was used to conduct site-characterisation work at a Scottish floating offshore windfarm, operating in water depths of up to 100 m. During the 68-day project, the professionalism, high level of operations and hospitality of VOS Gorgeous and her crew left a very positive impression with the Sulmara on-board survey team. Chris Young, Offshore Manager at Sulmara says, “All Vroon personnel throughout the entire project were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. They were always at hand to offer assistance, even when it was not expected of them. We have completed a difficult project for a high-value client and the Vroon personnel on board were instrumental in making sure that the vessel side of things ran smoothly. Considering that this was the first time many of the personnel on board had performed survey operations, their control of the vessel was excellent, and they were able to adapt quickly to the survey requirements. We look forward to working with everyone again and would like to thank them for their endeavours during this first nine-week project. We know that VOS Gorgeous will be a fantastic platform for us when deployed on future campaigns.” Jim Strachan, Client Fishery Liaison comments, “The vessel’s crew acted in a professional and safety-oriented manner at all times. The vessel is well structured, with captain and department heads ensuring compliance with marine regulations, completion of planned maintenance, as well as completing client requirements. There was regular planning with the survey team to utilise downtime. Thanks to the marine team on board for their cooperation and assistance.” VOS Aberdeen Managing Director Stuart Thom added, “I am extremely proud of VOS Gorgeous and her crew members, who safely and successfully completed this challenging project. We are delighted that Vroon Offshore Services has been able to make another contribution to an offshore-energy windfarm-development project.” VOS Gorgeous is currently back in her home port of Aberdeen, mobilising for her next survey contract with Sulmara. During a recent trip to Aberdeen, Vroon CEO Martijn Schouten and Stuart Thom visited VOS Gorgeous and her crew. Last week, Johan Verhegge celebrated his 15th anniversary with Vroon. Johan began his journey with us as IT Infrastructure Manager on 15 June 2009. He moved on to the role of Business Applications Manager from June 2015 to March 2024, exploring other opportunities and gaining new experiences. Since April 2024, Johan has come full circle, back in the role where it all started. His return to this role is testament to his dedication and the valuable expertise he brings to our team. Johan’s jubilee was marked by cake with the ICT team and the presentation of flowers by Rob Frenks, Group ICT Manager. We congratulate Johan on this milestone and wish him many more successful years with Vroon. #vroon

Vroon’s seafarers form the cornerstone of our operations. Highly trained and professional, they operate our vessels safely and efficiently 24/7. The Day of the Seafarer is an annual event, initiated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and celebrating the vital role seafarers play in our global community. Taking place on 25 June, this Day salutes the often unrecognised contributions made by seafarers across the world to international seaborne trade, the world economy and society.  The focus for 2024 is on seafarers’ contributions to ensuring that the maritime sector is a safe workplace (#SafetyTipsAtSea). Being at sea for often long periods, provides many opportunities to take pictures of the working environment. So, we asked our colleagues on board to share their photos and top tips for safety at sea, showing us how they work to enhance maritime safety and security, in tandem with protecting the marine environment. We have had a great response and a selection of the photos and tips will be shared in our next News Express magazine. On the Day of the Seafarer, we extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all colleagues, at sea and ashore. We are proud to have you as a member of the Vroon team and appreciate your hard work, dedication and resilience.      HAPPY DAY OF THE SEAFARER 2024!     #SafetyTipsAtSea #ShoutOutForSeafarers  #SeafarersAreKeyWorkers
