Position Summary

We are looking for a Director Key Account Technologist (KAT) to lead our growing team located in Almere, NL and Leuven, Belgium. As the KAT Director, you will manage the wider KAT team which consists of talented individuals including (senior) process engineers within Europe. The mission of your department will be to expand product market-share for our world class vertical furnace portfolio, by winning DTOR and PTOR selections and ensuring competitive process application performance of the installed bases. This is a unique role which will be based out of either our Global HQ in Almere, The Netherlands or in the heart of our R&D in Leuven, Belgium. With plenty of challenges and opportunities on the horizon this will without a doubt be a meaningful leadership role within ASM.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the KAT department (5-10FTE); be a trusted member of the KPU staff team
• New product introductions and evaluations by leading the project all the way to selection
• Be responsible for resolution of process application related escalations in the field
• Take responsibility for defining. maintaining and implementing BKM process for all process applications – including standards, specs and recipes, installed base performance
• Take care of continuous improvement of the existing process applications while maximizing use of current hardware and process by convincing users/clients;
• Maintain close cooperation with multiple internal stakeholders, in particular with process development and account teams.
• Drive continuous improvements within the department, both business process-wise and developing employees to the next level
• Be responsible for the budget and financial performance of the department
  
  
  

Requirements

Education and experience

• Master, PhD degree in physics, chemical engineering, or material science
• 8+ years (or 5+ years with Ph.D.) experience in the semiconductor wafer processing or capital equipment industry
• Direct experience with silicon wafer processing or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and ability have been achieved
• Experience with Vertical Furnace processes and applications is a benefit

• Management skills, including delegating, swift responsiveness, and decisiveness, which can at times be under stressful circumstances, such as multiple parallel escalations;
• Written and verbal communication skills including excellent presentation and convincing skills;
• Able to build long term trust relationship with customer, internal and external networker;
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking
