We have an exciting opportunity for a Vice President, Asset Management in our Amsterdam office. This individual will be reporting directly to the Regional Director - Asset Management and will work with the entire Asset Management group. The Asset Management Group at Cabot is directly responsible for the performance of each property in our portfolios during the investment holding period. The VP, Asset Management position requires a multi-disciplined, highly trained real estate professional who is expected to not only be responsible for managing investment assets during the investment holding period, but to be an integral part of both the acquisition and disposition process. The individual will need the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills and the ability to maintain a practical balance among multiple priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The primary tasks are meeting or exceeding the investment objectives by promoting customer relations, leasing, property operations oversight, budgeting, and reporting both internally and to our clients; This includes not only Cabot's funds, but also separate account asset management mandates and the reporting requirements unique to those assignments;
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of industrial properties located in the Netherlands and Germany;
  • Negotiate lease agreements with established background and experience and market specific knowledge of each lease provision both economic and non-economic;
  • Review lease abstracts for new leases, amendments, assignments, terminations and other lease documents including all critical dates and financial requirements, and resolution of lease compliance issues;
  • Develop and implement leasing strategies, capital improvement programs and other initiatives drawn from the original investment thesis and planned/monitored through the annual operating budget process;
  • Work with the Investment Officers from initial approval through due diligence to closing on all new property acquisitions in assigned markets to ensure efficient and comprehensive on-boarding of each investment;
  • Prepare and present quarterly property valuations of assigned portfolio with a focus on accurate cash flow projections, market appropriate leasing assumptions and expense and capital assumptions;
  • Establish and foster working relationships with third party brokerage firms to achieve fluency in the dynamics of each assigned market;
  • Oversee and manage the performance of the 3rd Party Property Managers;
  • Perform other related tasks as needed;

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background
  • At least 3-5 years of real estate transaction experience is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and Argus AE is required
  • Experience with MRI software is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all members of the organization
  • Self-motivated, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality as required and appropriate
  • Fluency in English and German is required. Fluency in Dutch is highly desirable

  • Frequent domestic and international travel
