As the CEO of Rystad Energy, I want to take the opportunity to wish everyone, both inside and outside the company, Happy Pride.
June has become a very colorful month within Rystad Energy, where we embrace the opportunity to celebrate and address LQBTQ+ related topics, now driven by our own internal community with allies, LGBTQube. That said, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are essential elements that we work with every day, continuously striving to improve. These themes took center stage at our global seminar and 20-year anniversary in Rhodes last month, when we gathered the whole company – more than 700 diverse Talents representing 60 nationalities located in over 50 cities around the globe. The theme of the seminar was “Leading Through Diversity”. Rystad Energy always highlights the need to work at a micro level – with “bottom-up” research – but we must also strive to see the broader picture. Our commitment is to embrace and unlock the full spectrum and potential of diversity, spanning sexual orientation and identification, gender, cognitive and interpersonal, functional and neurodiversity, ethnic and cultural, experience and expertise, generational and beyond. We had the pleasure of hearing some of our internal voices at the seminar, sharing their personal, inspiring and moving stories, knowledge and expertise. This was a catalyst for important conversations that allowed us to learn from each other by bringing diverse perspectives to the fore. Psychological safety is one of the key factors we focus on at Rystad Energy, while also providing training across the company on unconscious bias and with extensive development initiatives in a caring and energizing environment.
We are fully aware, however, that this is a continuous journey and a work in progress. At the same time, we allow ourselves to be proud of the vast level of diversity we have achieved thus far in Rystad Energy, and we enjoy celebrating milestones – large and small – to empower our Talents and foster entrepreneurship.
