As a part of the KOICA-funded Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Project, GGGI Nepal Country Office conducted 12 orientation sessions from April 9, 2024, to May 31, 2024, on weather forecasts and early warning systems for eight women farmer groups in six municipalities in the Madhesh Province of Nepal. The CSA project aims to build comprehensive climate change resilience among farmers in the region, with a particular focus on empowering women and youth. Recognizing limited access to weather forecast information sources and early warnings among women, the CSA project conducted dedicated trainings on increasing access to weather information, early warnings, alerts, and agromet advisories for informed decision making in agricultural practices. #ClimateSmartAgriculture #womenempowerwomen #GGGINepal #KOICA #sustainablefarming #climateresilience #madheshpradesh #agrometadvisories https://lnkd.in/d_MNJpQQ

This Environment Day, we're celebrating more than just Land Restoration. In the quaint village of Veklya, India, Ms. Santa Bai lights her smokeless chulha, part of GGGI’s efforts in the Narmada Landscape Restoration Project. By restoring 10,000 hectares of mixed landscape, including agriculture and forest areas, and introducing energy-efficient stoves, we're reducing forest reliance and empowering communities for a sustainable future. One flame at a time, we're building a greener, more resilient tomorrow. 🌱🏡 #GenerationRestoration

🌱In the course of building community resilience through climate-adaptive agricultural technologies, the Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) project has been promoting river bed farming in five Municipalities / Rural Municipalities namely: Kamala, Sabaila, Mithilabihari and Janaknandindini in #Dhanusha District and Bhangaha Municipality in #Mahottari District. The project has provided climate-smart solutions to support farmers in cultivating watermelons on 20 hectares of unused basins of the Kamala and Raatu rivers. With ongoing technical support and backstopping from the CSA project, farmers 👨🌾👩🌾are currently harvesting a bumper yield of watermelon, which is expected to continue over the next two months. 👏👍 The #KOICA funded CSA project is being implemented by #GGGI and #GNINepal in partnership with #AasamanNepal in 10 Municipalities/Rural Municipalities of Dhanusha and Mahottari district. The project's primary goal is to foster the adoption of climate-smart agriculture practices, thereby reducing vulnerability and enhancing food and job security, particularly for women and returned migrant workers in Madhesh province. 🙌 #goodchange #EmpoweringPeople #TransformingCommunities #environment #productivity
