We're delighted to welcome David Holyoke to the Serko team, to lead the growth of our SME business. David brings over 20 years of experience in the corporate travel industry, having held senior leadership roles at Airbnb and Travel Leaders. In his most recent role as Head of Commercial Strategy at Airbnb, David played a pivotal role in shaping the company's commercial direction. He also served as the founding GM for Airbnb for Work, where he built and scaled ventures in the corporate travel sector. David is taking over the leadership of Serko's Unmanaged Travel initiatives which includes the Booking.com for Business partnership, and will spearhead our efforts to expand our offerings in this segment. Today, Serko came together to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year, a time of reflection, remembrance, and renewal. Te Whānau a Hangarau Whakaaturanga o Serko, our Māori Affinity Group, led by our Rangatira Bob Shaw and our Kaitiaki Ngahina Williams helped build a greater understanding for our team about this special day.   Ngahina commented “It was humbling as the Kaitiaki of our rōpū, to be able to share stories in Te Reo of Matariki and her eight children, and what I believe Matariki means for all people who live in today's Aotearoa. A diverse and inclusive New Zealand is what we should all be striving for." Thank you to our Manuhiri Dan Te Whenua Walker for joining us, sharing with us your stories and elaborating on why Matariki was important to our tīpuna (ancestors) and how it inspires us to look forward to the future with hope and to celebrate the diversity that enriches our nation. Sharing a hākari was a wonderful experience for many Serkodians, who got to try their first hangi. Bob shared, "Today marks another significant inclusion step in Serko's history, where we celebrate and recognise all people, cultures, and diversity.
