We are excited to announce our participation in the upcoming high-level conference "BEACON: Mobilising Collaboration among Stakeholders to Optimise the Growing Potential of Data for Tackling Cancer" taking place on May 16th/17th, 2024, at the Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology in Warsaw, Poland. Cancer remains a significant health challenge, with millions of lives affected and lost each year. With the theme of "Mobilising Collaboration among Stakeholders to Optimise the Growing Potential of Data for Tackling Cancers," this conference aims to address the disparities in cancer care and improve outcomes. The EU-funded project, CANCER CARE BEACON, focuses on three pillars: mapping capacity and capabilities across cancer centers in the EU, creating decision support tools for patients, providers, researchers, and policymakers, and training and accreditation for quality cancer care. The objective of this conference is to develop a roadmap to scale current capacity and capabilities of cancer centers, addressing existing disparities and promoting access to diagnostics for all. Additionally, it aims to facilitate collaboration between EU regulatory and payer groups to identify core outcomes beyond survival and generate data throughout the lifecycle of therapies. Did you know that CliniNote plays a significant role in the international #DigiOne project, led by the Digital Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research? We are proud to collaborate with the Digital Oncology Network for Europe, with the collective goal of revolutionizing cancer care. 🌟 About DigiCore: DigiCore is driving the adoption of routine electronic health records (EHR) and molecular diagnostic information (MDX) in cancer centers. This initiative focuses on trial automation, real-world outcomes research, digital diagnostics, and care quality management. 🌍 The Ultimate Goal: DigiCore aims to establish a digital research infrastructure based on interoperability, connecting its Members globally. Network membership empowers cancer centers to enhance data quality, develop new data sources and tools, share digital best practices, and endorse innovative, digitally enabled research methods. 🔗 DigiOne's Vision: DigiOne is creating a federated digital research network, linking routine, high-quality clinical data with molecular data from six prominent cancer centers across six countries. 🚀 Current Progress: We are currently deploying CliniNote technology in this groundbreaking initiative. Over 20 hospitals from countries including Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Norway, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, and Estonia are actively participating in shaping the future of cancer care. The target number of hospitals in the network is 100 leading European centers. Polityka Insight highlights Digital Healthcare as one of the four challenges for Donald Tusk's government in healthcare 🏥. 🌍 At CliniNote, we're thrilled to see the European Health Data Space (#EHDS) identified by Dr. Michał Kuzemczak as a pivotal challenge for healthcare in the special Polityka Insight publication. With the European Parliament's endorsement, EHDS is set to revolutionize healthcare digitalization across the EU—a milestone that aligns perfectly with our mission. Here are the main challenges and opportunities: 📅 EHDS Implementation: Scheduled for launch in 2026, EHDS aims to connect national hubs into a single European ecosystem 🌐. This system will facilitate cross-border healthcare provision and enhance scientific research and e-health development. Full access to medical data for all EU citizens is projected by 2030. 📜 Legislative and Technological Preparedness: Poland must enact specific legislation concerning medical data and tailor its electronic medical records and Individual Patient Accounts to integrate into EHDS requirements seamlessly. The plenary meeting of the #IDEA4RC consortium, organized by the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano, is just ending.
