The impact driven venture arm of Paulig, investing in early stage start-ups in and around the future of food.
Om oss
PINC stands for Paulig incubator. It is the venture arm of Paulig: a corporate venture capital unit that invests in early stage start-ups in and around the future of food. The objective of PINC is to help Paulig renew itself and prosper as well as contribute to a tastier, healthier and more sustainable planet. We aim for strategic, financial and societal impact: the magnitude of each varies with different start-ups in our portfolio. We are an evergreen fund: we do not have a determined time for exit but always acts in the best joint interest of the start-up and investors.

🌍✨ Exciting News! ✨🌍 At PINC we are proud to be a part of ambitious Paulig Group! Marika King, Erika Hombert, Rosemari Herrero --------------- At Paulig Group, we are committed to a sustainable future. We are thrilled to share that we have set an ambitious goal to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2045! This commitment is not just a promise but a comprehensive strategy encompassing every aspect of operations. Here are some key highlights of the net zero strategy: 🌱 Sustainable Sourcing: Ensuring all our raw materials are responsibly sourced, prioritizing environmental and social standards. 🌍 Energy Efficiency: Investing in energy-efficient technologies and practices to reduce our carbon footprint. ⚡ Renewable Energy: Transitioning to renewable energy sources across all our facilities. 💡 Innovation: Continuously innovating our products and processes to minimize environmental impact. 🤝 Collaboration: Working closely with our partners, suppliers, and customers to create a sustainable value chain. 👀 Transparency: Regularly reporting our progress and holding ourselves accountable to our targets. One concrete tool to drive this transformation is Paulig’s unique climate fund, launched in 2023. The fund is used to kick-start and support new practices and innovations to reduce emissions where they have the biggest impact: Paulig’s coffee, wheat and corn value chains and logistics. The annually chosen climate projects are implemented together with partners and suppliers. We believe that sustainability is a journey, and every step counts. By working together, we can make a significant impact and contribute to a healthier planet for future generations. Join us on this journey to #NetZero by 2045! Let's create a sustainable future, one step at a time. #Sustainability #ClimateAction #GreenFuture #PauligGroup

This week Marika attended Food Tech Congress and came back with some amazing quotes 💡 See below for a Friday laugh 😆
It is always challenging to summarize a conference. So what to make of Foodtech Congress in Warzaw this week? I thought I would try to cover it with the most epic quotes from fellow start-ups & investors: 🥑 “We are raising an avocado round. A large seed.” Thanks Helen Lin, At One Ventures, for the laugh as she was quoting a fundraising entrepreneur. This is still the times, many of the teams out there are finding they need more time & money to prove milestones for investors to be interested. 💰 “Unit economics is everything.” Thanks David Brandes, planetary, for explaining clearly the most important milestone to be achieved. Flavor, clean label, functionality, sustainability is all good but it needs to be cheap enough to achieve price parity. Understand what you are comparing with. And don’t forget the Capex cost! IP does not matter if you can’t achieve this. 🎯 “There is a lot of talk about alternative funding. Non-dilutive money is of course great, and I know an awesome one: Sales.” Thanks Joško Bobanović, Sofinnova Partners, for that laugh! So true though, the best teams find early cashflow in one way or the other, it can be an early high value product, win-win partnerships or some creative way to hustle up some revenues whilst still keeping the eye on the ball. 🤝 “Food takes time. Agrifood investors know this and we are still here. The generalists are gone, I can’t see any of them in the room, can you?” Thanks Gil Horsky, FLORA Ventures, for calling it as you see it. It is important to get the right investors on board, the ones who know what it takes and can support you beyond the money. Congratulations to the winner of the pitch competition: Koolboks and thanks to old and new friends for participating in the best ecosystem there is 💚 Mika Kukkurainen Nityen Lal Bart Van Hooland Nadim El Khazen Giancarlo Addario James Caffyn Bar Rubin Arnout Dijkhuizen Piotr Pietrzak Dr. Christoph Mandl Ewa Karolewska Robert Walker Gilai Nachmann Anastasia Krivoruchko Martin Decara Markus Linder Alex Shandrovsky Bosco Emparanza García Dimitris Karefyllakis Carlos Cabrera Netta Granot Alfiya Kayumova Alexander Gänsdorfer Matvey Sidorin Jérôme Raudin Franck Leyze Selim Ucer, Ph.D. Francesca Pedri Xin Ma Peter Dorfner 🙏
