40% of the emission reductions we need to achieve by 2040 could come from energy efficiency alone (according to IEA). The question is, how do we make this a reality? It all comes down to making sure that you have the most innovative and efficient heat transfer technology, optimizing your process to stay at your peak long-term, and heat reuse. Here at Alfa Laval, we have the knowledge and experience to help you reach your full potential. Contact one of our Energy Hunters to start your energy efficiency journey. 💡 We are redefining data center sustainability with our air-cooled heat exchangers. Combined with our other heat exchanger technologies, these compact, efficient, and water-free systems turn data centers from energy consumers into providers. Embrace a future where data centers contribute to local communities and push towards net-zero emissions.

Based on our experience, the #keys to sustainable heating with electrically driven industrial #HeatPumps are 3 points as below: 📈 Determine the exact temperature you need the heat pump to deliver. ✳️ Choose a system with natural refrigerants like ammonia, carbon dioxide, or hydrocarbons. 📊 Ensure the system is optimised with modern technology. Alternatively, work with a reliable partner like Alfa Laval to find a lasting solution. 😀

The installation of #HeatPumps at wastewater treatment plants has a huge, but rarely exploited, potential. Here is a good example in Ejby Mølle #Wastewater Treatment Plant. Instead of discharging the treated wastewater directly into #Odense river, it is led through a heat pump system that recovers the heat for district heating. Together with IESenergy A/S and Ramboll, we lead the way in: 🌍 Environmental impact: significant reduction of CO2 emissions by 128,000 tonnes over 20 years. 📈 Energy efficiency: efficiently converts cleaned sewage water into district heating, supplying green energy to thousands of homes. 🌲 Sustainability: supports Odense’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and climate action. 💡 Innovative technology: utilizes state-of-the-art ammonia heat pumps and reliable heat exchangers for optimal performance. 🚀 Alfa Laval spiral heat exchangers have a long association with the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in India. In order to safely make a soft landing near the moon's south pole one of the requirements is that the propellant must be processed through heat exchangers that meet several strict requirements. 👉 Read the fascinating story presenting how we supported this critical mission: https://lnkd.in/dzR9sFwM

🔌Transforming #WasteHeat into Opportunity 🔄 What can be done with excess heat from machines or thermodynamic processes? The answer is: #reuse it. With the right technology, here are some innovative solutions in action: · Odense, Denmark: a globally advanced #DataCenter recovers 100,000 MWh of energy annually, heating around 7,000 homes. · Helsingborg, Sweden: Since 1974, the Kemira #ChemicalPlant has cut carbon emissions by 171,000 tons per year by utilizing waste heat. · Hamburg, Germany: Aurubis #CopperPlant recovered waste heat can potentially reduce CO2 emissions by 140,000 tons annually. There are many examples highlighting how repurposing waste heat can drive #sustainability. Stanisław Zachara and Anna Hall share in the video how we can adopt these best practices at scale and pioneer positive change together.

🌱 Transforming the future of sustainable agriculture! 🌿In Cambridgeshire, UK, a groundbreaking 20-hectare greenhouse heated by industrial #HeatPumps and #CHP finished in 2022. The ideal growing environment will be created by using heat pumps to utilise water from both existing and proposed local reservoirs. A CHP plant will provide the electricity to power the heat pumps, while CO2 emissions from the CHPs will be transferred back to the glasshouses to accelerate the growth of the plants. 14 units Alfa Laval semi-welded plate heat exchangers ensure efficient and eco-friendly heating, helping the project qualify for the UK Renewable Heat Incentive (#RHI) scheme. We're proud to partner with IESenergy A/S on the project of AGR Renewables. Read more details of the project: https://lnkd.in/d8tz4idU #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #GreenTech
