» The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) announced on February 3 that the combined value of foreign and local applications for investment promotion in 2021 totalled 642.7 billion baht (ca. US$19.5 billion), an increase of 59%, boosted mainly by foreign direct investments (FDI) in tech sectors and a continued increase in the value and number of projects in Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) industries, as well as the continued build-up of the power generation sector.

BOI and ASEAN Japan Center organise Japanese online press mission

» The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) offices in Tokyo and Osaka, in cooperation with the ASEAN Japan Center, on 3-4 February 2022, jointly organised an Online Press Mission on “Thailand's Comprehensive Strategy for Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economic Model and Current Situation of Electric Vehicle (EV) Industry” to promote investment in Thailand’s BCG economy and EV industry. The online event, attended by 17 Japanese correspondents and representatives of network agencies, gave them the opportunity to interview BOI Secretary General Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit and senior executives from public and private agencies.

BOI visits Beko Thai

» A delegation from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), led by Ms. Sonklin Ploymee, Deputy Secretary General, visited Beko Thai Co., Ltd. on 9 February 2022. Beko Thai is a subsidiary of Arcelik Group, the top electrical appliances producer of Turkey. Both parties took part in a workshop aimed at jointly developing an Upskill & Reskill Course to improve worker skills in areas such as automation and robotics, IoT, AI, advanced materials, and others. Academics from Burapha University and representatives from the Thai-German Institute, the Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Academy (MARA) also joined the workshop held at Huawei Academy.
