We were full house last night at our Sustainable Supply Chain Event! Thanks to our speakers, we discovered how companies were executing sustainability initiatives and strategies in their supply chain processes. With perspectives from MNCs, SMEs, and sustainability tech, we dove deep into how sustainability can be integrated into various aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics and distribution. A big thank you to our speakers for taking time out of their schedules to join us as well as to present the initiatives happening in their companies Benjamin Wee, FCIPS, CSCP, PSCMC from PlanetWise Pte. Ltd., KC Kasturi from Procter & Gamble, Ingrid Caes from CEVA Logistics, and Jean Goh from Xcel Industrial Supplies Pte Ltd! Last night was also an opportunity for The Matcha Initiative to launch our Sustainable Supply Chain category. A total of 6 sub-categories, 40 solutions, 27 Buddies, and 42 Suppliers, the category addresses the challenges and opportunities that companies face when implementing a sustainable supply chain strategy. It aims to provide companies and supply chain professionals actionable sustainable supply chain best practices, and also features a glossary, articles, and resources to advance this mission. We are so thankful to our working group of our The Matcha Initiative Do-gooders, who were able to showcase the amazing work they’ve been doing for the past year and a half. Thank you to Adrien de Buttet, Violaine Balland, and category leader Delphine Laurien! We want to thank all the participants who made it to the evening, and stayed through the speeches, presentations and Q&A! It was an evening filled with valuable information, and indeed incredibly insightful and relevant to today’s context; businesses need to step up and accelerate their sustainability transformations, and one key element of this is via their supply chain processes. It was uplifting to see so many professionals in the room last night, many who were already involved in supply chain and wanting to either drive or advance their companies’ sustainability strategy. We welcomed guests to Fraser Residence River Promenade, the newest addition to our #Singapore portfolio last week before the inaugural Frasers Hospitality Leadership Conference, and displayed a stunning example of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. The property is energy-optimised and conscientiously minimises plastic usage, earning it a Green Mark GoldPlus certification. In keeping with our dedication to sustainability, we seize every opportunity to incorporate eco-friendly practices and uplift green companies. Apropos of that, we collaborated with @xcelindustrial Creuse, and Lavish, who jointly transformed the space with tables, food carts, and stage platforms crafted entirely from reclaimed pallet wood. As thoughtful mementos, Creuse provided Jenga-inspired game sets, each customised with handwritten notes and gifted to attendees from those who shared the celebration. 🧑🏭👷♀️ Workplace safety is important.  Visited Xcel Industrial Supplies’ wood 🪵 processing facility with SMS Zaqy Mohamad yesterday. Xcel joined our StartSAFE programme launched by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WHSC), and has since made their workplace even safer for their workers. They installed shield plates over saw blades, and use a centralised vacuum system that takes in sawdust produced during the wood-cutting process. Had the opportunity to attend this field trip under the specialist diploma in environmental and corporate sustainability by Republic Polytechnic.
