Did you know that at Fraport Slovenija we organize guided tours of Ljubljana Airport? ✈️🛄   We love the airport world and are happy for opportunities to share our excitement and present the hustle and bustle of the everyday airport activities. 🤩 Our guided tours are intended mainly for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, but also for associations, different professionals and other organized groups. 🧒🧑 Some of the tour’s highlights are the security control, where you will find out all about prohibited items, the ramp, where aircrafts are loading and unloading, there is also a peek into airport’s own fire and rescue services. 🛫🧳🚒   Last week we were proud to host a group of visitors, who visited Ljubljana Airport as part of Mastercard’s ShareExperience program. 🤗 Project encourages inclusion of disabled people in society and is an important step towards a world, where all individuals, regardless of their abilities, have the same opportunities to participate. 🙌 Here is a link to the project's website: https://sharedozivetje.si/   You can find out more about Ljubljana Airport guided tours here: https://lnkd.in/ejxEhpAk. Exciting increase in passenger numbers at Ljubljana Airport 🤗🎉   In the first half of 2024, we welcomed 651.130 passengers, which represents 21,5 % increase compared to the same period last year. ✈️ From 25 regular flight destinations this summer season, the most passengers travelled to or from Istanbul, Frankfurt, Zurich, Belgrade and London Gatwick. 🌍🧳   Sincer the end of May, the start of the summer charter flights, our airport was also a holiday gateway for tourist visiting 57 different holiday destinations on special flights organized by the tourist agencies. 🛫 Destinations with the most passengers in the month of June were Hurgada, Antalya, Monastir, Rhodes and Heraklion. 🏖️🌴   Let us know your summer vacation destination in the comments. ✏️ If you don’t have a trip planned yet, you can explore all destinatins to and from Ljubljana Airport here: https://lnkd.in/e45YFSBz 🗺️   #LjubljanaAirport #CharterFlights #SummerGetaway #Growth #TravelTrends 

A special water salute for Slovenian football heroes! 🎊   At Ljubljana Airport we are very proud, that yesterday we were the first to welcome Slovenian football team back home on Slovenian soil. 🤗 They have received a unique reception when returning from UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany. ⚽ For their amazing performance at the tournament, our firefighter’s team prepared a water salute for their arrival. 🛬💧   We use water salute on very special occasions, mainly for inaugurating new flight routes. ✈️🗺️ And we are already excited for the end of July, when Ljubljana and Madrid will be connected through Iberia’s new route.💃🥘   Football Association of Slovenia #LjubljanaAirport #Ljubljana #Slovenia #FraportSlovenija #EURO2024 #SrceBije #football #ifeelsLOVEnia #watersalute

🌟 Celebrating 60 Years of Ljubljana Airport with a Family Fun Day! 🌟 Today, the Ljubljana Airport community came together for a memorable and joyous day. In line with tradition, Fraport Slovenija organized a Family Day for all colleagues working at the airport and their loved ones. This year's event was extra special as we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ljubljana Airport. 🎉 For six decades, our beloved airport has been at the heart of possibilities, fostering connections. We gathered not only to honour this milestone but also to celebrate our enduring bonds. To mark the occasion, we kept our spirits high and our bodies active! Participants enjoyed the first-ever airport run, #LJUrun, a unique 6 km running experience with an astonishing view of planes taking off in parallel – truly a sight to remember! 🚀 Our younger enthusiasts also had a blast participating in the mini run, #miniLJUrun, with a cheerful mascot, Foksi, the biggest fan of Slovene sportsmanship. 🏃♂️🏃♀️ We are immensely grateful to be part of such a remarkable community, one that continually creates a heart of possibilities for individuals, society, and the broader global community. Summer vacation, here we come! ☀ With today’s charter flight to Santorini and Crete Ljubljana Airport has entered the main charter season. Organized by travel agencies, the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean and beyond will be available. Altogether, passengers are able to choose from 57 destinations with charter flights this summer season.  🏝 Greece being one of the most popular, passenger will get to choose from 14 Greek destinations. A wide offer of flights will be available also to Spain, France, Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia. Besides the already mentioned, travel agencies will be flying passengers also to Portugal, Malta, the Netherlands, Iceland, Azores, Cape Verde Islands, Finland and Italy. ✈ With over 150,000 passengers handled, charter traffic has recovered to the pre-covid level already in 2023 at Ljubljana Airport, and this year it is expected to perform equally well. Passenger traffic has grown by almost 25% in the period from January to April compared to the same period in 2023, with 370.000 passengers handled. Until end of the year, Fraport Slovenija expects to count around 1,4 million passengers in total on regular routes and charter flights from Ljubljana Airport. “Charter flights to Greece are opening the main holiday season at Ljubljana Airport. From the Azores throughout the Mediterranean to the Red Sea and Northern Europe there will be as much as 57 holiday destinations reachable for a holiday getaway. Travel agencies have set up an even wider offer of charter flights this year, aiming to attract not only Slovene leisure travellers, but also Italian, Austrian and Croatian. Today, we had the privilege of hosting the Airport Management Committee meeting of the German Airports Association (ADV). Dedicated to fostering competitive air traffic and promoting modern, efficient airports across Germany, this association works also in close collaboration with airports in Austria, Switzerland, and Hungary.   28 members representing airport operators came together to engage in a dynamic discussion on key industry topics ✈ and exchange valuable insights 💡.   We hope that Ljubljana Airport, as part of the Fraport Group, provided an inspiring venue for the day. We welcomed Norwegian with great smiles and 🌈 today, as the carrier established a new route between Copenhagen and Ljubljana. ✈️ Norwegian is opening up a world of opportunities for travelers seeking seamless journeys between Denmark and Slovenia, while also offering convenient onward flights to other Nordic countries through its hub in Copenhagen. 🌍 Flights will be available twice a week, initially on Mondays and Fridays, and during the peak summer season on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
