[ภาษาไทยด้านล่าง] If Thailand is to reach its #NetZero goal and transition the electricity sector towards clean energy, it is crucial to rely on technology to manage carbon, including capture, storage, and utilization. Many countries have already accelerated the development and use of technologies called CCS/CCUS. But for Thailand, how much progress have we made on this issue? #SaardPodcast will invite you to understand what CCS/CCUS is, why we should care, and if Thailand takes this technology seriously, how beneficial it will be. Also, is there anything we should be concerned about? Find answers in the #saardpodcast program. [ภาษาไทยด้านล่าง] A lifelong Bangkok resident shares a powerful story about the impact electricity has had on his community. "When the lights came on," he recalls, "everything improved. Prosperity followed. Better roads, more lights – it all came with electricity." For Pramuan, this marked a turning point, bringing not just illumination, but also infrastructure development and economic growth to his neighborhood. 💡 🏘 Pramuan's story highlights the importance of reliable and accessible energy. In the interview, he emphasises the need for government investment in renewable sources like solar power to ensure a cleaner and more secure energy future for Thailand. Projects like the Sirindhorn Dam, which combines hydroelectric power with floating solar panels, demonstrate the potential of innovative solutions. This episode of "Humans of Energy Transition - Thailand" explores the perspectives of Bangkok's elderly residents on the city's energy needs and how electricity has changed their lives. 4: https://lnkd.in/guGSn8rP GIZ Thailand #EnergyTransition #SustainableFuture #Bangkok #CleanEnergy #SolarPower #CarbonNeutrality

⚡ CASE organises “Regional Workshop on Electricity Market Designs for Renewables in Southeast Asia” . 🔋 The Regional Workshop on Electricity Market Designs for Renewables in Southeast Asia, a two-day event held in Bangkok, Thailand, stressed the urgent need for Southeast Asian nations to ramp up wind and solar energy production to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Organised by the project "Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia (CASE)" and the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP), the workshop brought together more than 60 key stakeholders from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, including government representatives, regulators, utility companies, renewable energy producers and international experts. . 🌞 The workshop highlighted the significant progress already underway across the region. All four participating countries are actively deploying renewable energy sources, particularly wind and solar power. However, the workshop also acknowledged the shared challenges faced by these nations in integrating these variable renewable energy sources with their existing power grids and markets. Discussions focused on identifying best practices and potential solutions, with a particular emphasis on market reforms, knowledge sharing, and strategic investments in system flexibility solutions like battery storage. . 🌱 Later this year, CASE will publish a detailed analysis on how Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam can harness market opportunities to increase renewable energy. . 📌 Read the full news: https://lnkd.in/g_XgGGew Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH #GIZThailand CASE for Southeast Asia
