🌊 Charting new waters, a unique experience for GEDA! We are thrilled to assist NI Water in development of appraisals for WwTW’s sea outfalls situated on the Belfast Lough. A rig mobilised to the shoreline of Belfast Lough has completed surveys to support the design of potential replacement / upgrade of the existing sea outfalls, under the Living With Water in Belfast Plan. Our team thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience, check out some of the impressive drone shots captured recently. Thank you to the team at Causeway Geotech Ltd for their continued work on this contract along with RPS and our client Northern Ireland Water. For everyone involved on the project site, this location made for an interesting commute each morning! 🚤 Department for Infrastructure #WaterProjects #CivilEngineeringproject #BelfastLough Royalty Free Music: https://www.bensound.com License code: 7UXDIAYUFXOEYAEH

Causeway Geotech Ltd have been undertaking works the past couple of weeks in Belfast for a proposed 30m deep storm storage shaft. At its peak last week there were four rigs on site to ensure completion on programme but the star of the show is not just any old borehole: - Scheduled to 60m; - Initially drilled to 7m with cable percussion including standard geotechnical sampling and testing; - Rotary follow-on using Commachio 602 rig; - Test pockets drilled with conventional T2-101 to facilitate High Pressure Dilatometer (HPD) tests at 6Nr. locations; - Overdrill of test pockets with GeoboreS between HPD test locations and to scheduled depth with full recovery and detailed logging of core; - Downhole wireline geophysical borehole logging; - 4Nr. packer tests; - Backfill & install. Working for Farrans, along with our supply chain In Situ Site Investigation, Robertson Geo and Brimstone - UXO A little bit of planning needed on this one to get all disciplines seamlessly lined up. Still a bit of work to do but hats off to the drillers and strong supply chain partners for seeing this through.

The rig has completed surveys at Greenisland and is currently positioned adjacent to Carrickfergus Wastewater Treatment Works. During May the rig will move to locations adjacent to Whitehouse and Belfast Wastewater Treatment Works to complete investigations to aid the design of potential replacement outfalls under the Living With Water in Belfast Plan.
