Further to last year’s successful completion of the Three Peaks Challenge, Clegg Construction will once again be teaming up with Atkins Search to raise money for charity – this time taking on 5 of the toughest peaks in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The challenge, which will take place on Saturday 14th September, will see over 20 Clegg and Atkins Search employees cover 14 miles (22km) of mountainous terrain, ascending 5 of the highest hills in the Lake District: Scafell Pike (978m) 🌄 Great End (910m) 🌄 Ill Crag (935m) 🌄 Allen Crags, (785m) 🌄 and Rossett Pike (651m) 🌄 By the end of the day, the team will have climbed over 1500m – more ascent than the UK’s highest mountain! 🌄 Our joint chosen charity will be Tough To Talk - a UK charity dedicated to reducing male suicide, and one that is very close to our hearts. Founded in Nottingham in 2022, Tough to Talk partners with workplaces across the UK to help them break the silence surrounding poor mental health in men, providing life-saving suicide intervention training and promoting awareness of the male suicide crisis. 🔗 To find out more about the charity and pledge your support, please visit our JustGiving page either via the QR code shown below or the link in the comments section. 🔗 Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will help support critical men’s mental health initiatives and suicide prevention programs. With 5️⃣ 1️⃣ days to go, the countdown is officially on!

Last Friday, we were pleased to be involved in the Mansfield and Ashfield Business Network Construction Fair – a morning networking event designed to open up opportunities for local contractors and suppliers, and hosted at Vision West Nottinghamshire College’s Derby Road campus in Mansfield. Clegg is currently on-site at the College’s Chesterfield Road campus, where we are managing the construction of a new technology and skills centre - the Future Tech Skills and Knowledge Exchange - on the site of the former arts and design building. Upon completion, the state-of-the-art building will provide 1,343 sq. m. of high-quality teaching space over two floors and will be a focal delivery point for T Levels, with a strong focus on innovation and STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects. It will also offer opportunities for businesses to benefit from the technological expertise of the college and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and their networks of industrial partnerships.
