What are the main issues facing accountancy firms seeking to optimise their operations by introducing further digital tools? Can some of the SME-focused tools coming out of Denmark help address some of these? Last month, the Embassy hosted a UK / Danish dialogue looking at these and other issues. In the video below a few glimpses from the discussion – feel free to reach out to Per Kaag Andersen for a copy of the slide decks used if you would like more information. Warm thanks to all speakers and attendees, who contributed to an interesting discussion – and not least to our partners in Uniify and Corpay One, who made the event possible. With a large Danish presence at The Economist’s Commercialising Quantum, the Danish Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Rene Dinesen, was invited to hold a keynote session detailing the strength and momentum in the Danish quantum eco-system. A strong Danish National Quantum Strategy with a focus on international collaboration, a newly established Danish National Quantum Investment Fund, the recently established NATO DIANA Quantum Accelerator (Deep Tech Lab – Quantum), as well as private sector investment to the tune of hundreds of millions of euros and a rapidly growing eco-system of start-ups make Denmark a very competitive Quantum stronghold. World class research from world class Danish institutions and universities is supporting and underpinning these developments, and Danish eco-system is always looking for international partners and collaborators. Danish delegation participants: Partisia, DFM - Danish National Metrology Institute, Qpurpose, QunaSys, Sparrow Quantum We look forward to seeing you at other quantum events this year! #theeconomist #commercialisingquantum #denmark #denmarkmeansbiz #investindenmark #tradceouncil #quantum #quantumcomputing

📽 Tomorrow marks the beginning of this year’s Sheffield DocFest, which will feature four new Danish documentaries: ‘We Are Fallen Angels’ by Rosa Vendelboe Vestergaard, ‘Black Snow’ by Aline Simone, ‘Democracy Noir’ by connie field, and ‘Made in Ethiopia’ by Xinyan Yu and Max Duncan. The documentary We Are Fallen Angels will be part of the programme: Shorts: Building a Life. It is about a young woman who seeks to escape through her transgressive lifestyle and her dreams of becoming a star. 🌟 Black Snow follows a Siberian mother’s uncovering of a coal scandal that thrusts her into conflict with the Russian authorities, sparking a perilous quest for truth and justice. In Democracy Noir, a journalist, a politician, and an activist fights to highlight the infringement of democratic rights in Hungary. Through the activism of its three subjects, the film details how unchecked power can quickly remove rights that were once taken for granted. The crew behind Made in Ethiopia has followed a businesswoman for four years as she leads a vast Chinese factory complex in rural Ethiopia. As the factory undertakes ambitious expansion plans, the promises of industrialisation are brought into question. The Sheffield DocFest is the UK’s leading documentary festival, and will run until 17 June. Photo: Rosa Vendelboe Vestergaard, 'We Are Fallen Angels' #DanishcultureintheUK

Strong Danish presence at quantum technology conference in London🇩🇰🧑🔬🇬🇧. There was a significant Danish presence at the Commercialising Quantum conference organised by the Economist Impact events in London last week. Danish Ambassador René Dinesen emphasised Denmark´s strong position on quantum technology and the Danish government’s priorities linked to our national quantum strategy from last year 📄 🔬. A key priority for us is to build partnerships between researchers and companies, between public and private entities as well as between countries. The newly signed bilateral quantum partnership between Denmark and the UK from April is an important example. We were also proud to announce that Denmark will chair NATO’s new Transatlantic Quantum Community (TQC). Several Danish quantum companies and organisations such as Partisia, Sparrow Quantum, QunaSys, Qpurpose, DFM - Danmarks Nationale Metrologiinstitut and Kvantify joined us on this important agenda through a roundtable with UK quantum companies hosted by the Ambassador. Thank you to the organisers and collaboration partners for making the conference such a great success!
