Energetics works with the UK's leading housebuilders, construction firms and independent consulting companies. We design and build gas, electric and water networks for new residential, high rise, industrial & commercial developments for housing and construction customers across Scotland, North of England and North Wales. Energetics was established in 2002 following the deregulation of the utilities connections sector. Since then, by delivering an unrivalled ‘one-stop-shop’ service for multi utility design, build and connection we have helped to influence the growth of our sector, bringing much needed competition in getting new developments connected to the utilities.

Completing work safely is a top priority at Energetics. We use LSBUD (Linesearch BeforeUdig)’s line search in our initial design through to onsite operations. It’s essential we check what pipes and cables are nearby and we encourage our teams to always stop and check if something isn’t right. This is important across the Last Mile group of companies. #nationalsafediggingweek
It's National Safe Digging Week, designed to highlight the dangers of digging ‘blind’ and raise awareness for the importance of searching before you dig. On 26th June LSBUD (Linesearch BeforeUdig) held their annual National Damage Prevention Day to promote the prevention of damage to utility networks. Our colleagues Richard Welsby IEng MIGEM and Steven Hewitson attended the event, bringing back to the team some powerful messages and shared experiences from the industry to further promote best practices and help improve the safety focused hard work of everyone in our business. Richard said, "Unfortunately in our industry people get hurt following unsafe digging practices and LSBUD are leading the way in promoting their free, easy to use service for checking records for anyone excavating in public. Our subsidiary companies Energetics and UKPS use LSBUD on every project to identify the presence of below ground assets prior to any excavation works”. It's Net Zero Awareness Week, and we are celebrating one of the first developments built with Last Mile’s ground source heat technology 🔥 The Avenue, Barnton, a Cruden Group Homes site, is an exclusive development of apartments and executive villas for later living which now has 14 completed properties. Robin Abram, Associate Director, Heat, said: “It’s great to have our first Last Mile Heat customers on board. They’re using our new website and have successfully registered with us using the bespoke customer portal. It’s been a huge team effort from across the group to get to this point, and it marks the beginning of an exciting future for the Last Mile Heat business.” We have more sites in the pipeline for ground source heat, amounting to thousands of homes heated in a sustainable way. Throughout 2024, at the Last Mile group of companies we’ve been awarding our colleagues with Willy Wonka-inspired golden tickets for bringing our core values to life 🎟️🎟️🎟️ The tickets land in true Wonka style – an unexpected but wonderful surprise! Our first winners for the 'We care' value back in January were Andy Willey and Kurt Revitt, Service & Mains Layers at Energetics. Andy and Kurt demonstrated selflessness and quick-thinking, putting their health and safety training into practice to help a member of the community who was in trouble. They showed they cared at a time when it really mattered. Andy said, "It was a surprise to win the golden ticket, but also a great feeling knowing the company has recognised what we did when we came across a traffic incident by giving us the award for us caring about others" and Kurt commented "It was nice to receive recognition from the company for what we did regarding the incident, and it pushes us on as individuals to go the extra mile going forward."
